True immortality. In theory, by breaking the Bekenstein boundary you can stuff all the information in the universe into something that can (theoretically) survive the end of the universe. This would in effect be a computer simulation of, well, everything.
(There are some people who claim this has already happened, but nobody takes them that seriously.)

Dunno where it's from exactly, though it reminds me of the Festival from Charlie Stross' Singularity Sky: a collection of travelling AI/upload cultures wandering around looking for trade opportunities. They find a likely target, stay in orbit for a while until trade opportunites are exhausted and then head for the next likely target.---
