Greenwood U does compete in American intercollegiate football and basketball, although not until the late 20teens. And, given American policy on handwavium, athletes are as rigorously tested for possible biomods as they are for steroid use.

Rockhounds and the TSAB both sponsor Quidditch and Gravball teams (as has been mentioned elsewhere).

William Hopper, who had been on hotel security at That Con, began a very profitable career as a 'heel' in American Professional Wrestling propelled mostly by the Hulk-like biomod he ended up with. By the end of OJG, popular attitudes had softened slightly towards the Fen, and he completed a 'heel/face turn' just before being called to testify in the Senate hearings on the war.
