That would involve a light bee (maybe carrying an extra battery), and remove any risk of contamination. They aren't cheap, but you could try and collect to recycle them, later. Maybe, as the zombies have to touch to 'infect' people, a zombie toad?
I think any gunk which looks like biomod-ing handwavium is really a good idea to avoid.
