If you don't need touch, as well as sight, then people have been hacking that sort of wave tech together practically from Day One. You just need a good supply of holo zombie toads... Any competent voodoo Mad should be able to make those from a cauldron of tank-grown toad spawn, micro projector lenses, and video tapes... Just make sure they get a good supply of holo flies...
Of course it also means that the actual holos will not be ready until the late 201's, but I can live wth a festival than grows up in complexity each year -from a group of people in make up in 2012, to an entire horde of zombie robots that catch and infect victims, rains of fire, flying demons, landmarks and entire districts turned into haunted post-apocalyptic ruins via solid holograms, etc. in Season 3
Also, remember if you zombiefy people, they can make more zombies themselves. So, you'll need to have at least a small supply of toads (three?) riding on each of them.
