Foxboy Wrote:NLR likely has a severe problem with some "Conversion Bureau" memes amongst the citizens. Like, "Newfoals (Biomods)" vs "Natives (equinoid robods)" and then the additional wrinkle of telepresences, cosplay, power armor, and the like. Then of course the folks who want to be part of the Senshi Collective instead of staying. Additionally a strong split could come up in regards to The Canterlot Resort, Hotel, and Casino on the Mars Vegas strip. Some pretty memorable characters can come from the extremists, and folks who have consequences from being "fray adjacent" with some of the extremists.

A lot of the NLR-based conflicts could be taken from Fandom Drama IRL. Hm. A story about someone who has a strongly factional biomod who became antagonistic to the fandom due to FanDumb, perhaps?

Yeah, the CB idiots are going to be a major issue for them, but more in the way of a boskonian splinter faction deal that decides that the bureaus were a good idea after all because of miscommunications on the actions of the founding members of the nation. Mostly the splinter group because there's enough dilution from new immigrants to just make the roboids/poor biomodded schmucks (who 9/10 end up anthropomorphic instead of full pony) and general poniness the glue (no horrifying pun intended... okay, partially intended) that holds the groups together instead of the overriding all-consuming that many of the other factions take it to. Like I said a long time ago, think militant trekkies who keep to themselves short of complaints or a case of the nation in question/criminals in question really causing a lot of harm. Live, let live, keep out of each other's hair. Lots of 'Well, okay... good for you's going around. And R.Celestia, who nobody can figure out if she's a full-on biomod, a roboid, some kind of tupla given permanence, or (as some hushed whispers go) she's the real Celestia on vacation. Pointing a scanner at her gives blank space, and it's only the fact that she can be touched and recorded that says she's not some sort of shared delusion. Nobody's got a clue, everybody in the faction is afraid to ask, and she just smiles annoyingly while restraining Ward from trying to cut the gordian knot with a chainsaw.

A lot of the NLR conflicts would derive from the Ward Clan family drama hours (like the Skywalker Family Happy Drama Hour, but now with 100% more banjos!), those aforementioned potioneer boskonian faction that eventually gets led by Isabella as part of her two-finger salute after her brother wrecks her everything (who also can't figure out why their handwavium potions won't 'fix' people's minds and ethics the way they want), some drama about Eris and the nice long-range cordon around it while the NLR works on it, general NLR buildup and such both at the Plasket Crater/Crystal Empire (make up your darn minds!) conversion and enclosure project and their general 'you guys are building up a whole lot of logistics for people who supposedly want to stay out of trouble'-izing that unnerves people with their paranoia.
