Quote:Blight's intended to be essentially a Blastruptor, hammering targets from range, with an emphasis on blowing shit up, and a secondary support status.(Fair warning; I'm gonna rant quite a bit in the following post, but I have very strong ideas regarding Rad/Rad as a powerset combo. =)
Anyway. If doing damage is your intent, your attack slotting is...not ideal. This is a build for a support-oriented corruptor, with damage taking a very very distant back seat. That's kinda backwards, isn't it? I mean, I'd be fine with this if you were trying to make a pure support corruptor. But you're not.
Okay. What's the problem? A few things. Most importantly:- you've got one, maybe two damage enhancements in most of your attacks. That's not enough. You gotta realise that Radiation Blast doesn't hit as hard as many other attack powersets for Corruptors. Not maxing out your powers for damage is a bit short-sighted, if blowing stuff up is your primary objective.
As Sweno indicated, you probably don't want the -def enhancements on 'em. If you do want to do more -def, just take Irradiate...it has a massive base -def even unenhanced, and it's AoE.
Two, if you intend to hammer targets from range, you're also playing the wrong set. A good radiation 'blaster' doesn't do damage from range. You're a knife fighter.
Why? Well, we're drifting into personal territory here. But on my Rad/Rad corruptor, my best damage tools are Irradiate, Electron Haze, Neutron Bomb and Cosmic Burst.
Let me explain:- as a general rule, AoE damage is always superior to single-target damage, especially as team size (and thus enemy spawn size) increases. Yes, Irradiate doesn't do a lot of damage to each target, but if you use it right it's going to hit a lot of targets. That's the point of AoEs. Most AoEs do piddling damage per target, but once you add it up the reason you want 'em becomes clear.
Radiation will never be a king of single-target damage. The snipe hits as hard as any snipe, yes, but frankly snipes are bad choices for overall damage output due to the time it takes to fire one; you're better off using two or three quicker attacks during that time. Neutrino Bolt isn't actually bad if you add up the papercut damage it does, but many people prefer to use it as a mule for procs - or skip it entirely. X-Ray blast is decent, but not fantastic.
Cosmic Burst, however, is very good; indeed it should be your primary source of single-target damage, which is why you want to max it out.
However, we then run into another problem. That being - Cosmic Burst has a hideously short range, since it's one of those close-up high-damage blasts. Hang on to that thought.
Now... Radiation's not great at single-target, aside from Cosmic Burst. But realise then that Radiation has one AoE power, one PBAoE, and one cone - and you can fire them into the middle of a debuff zone.
So you've got pretty damn good AoE. But Electron Haze, your cone attack, also has a very short range. Irradiate is a PBAoE, which means you need to be right up in the bad guys face to use it.
So is your nuke and EM Pulse - and let's be clear, EM Pulse is one of your key powers. Possibly the best damn hold in the game.
What does this all mean? Well, you can enhance Cosmic Burst and Electron Haze for range, but even range enhancements only go so far. Moreover, that will cost you slots, which it seems you'd rather spend elsewhere.
My solution is to play as a knife fighter, and do a lot of my damage output from close and medium range, not long range. Do I die sometimes, doing that? Yes. Do I die often - no.
You've seen Sweno on Gamma Emission. While I'm not at that level on my Rad/Rad corruptor, my debuffs and powers do mean I'm relatively safe ducking into the thick of a fight, even melee range. He does it for tankdefender reasons.
I do it to lay down damage smackdown. In my opinion, that is the way to maximise damage output on a Rad/Rad corruptor. You're not a sniper rifle, you're a grenade.
Okay.
Some other thoughts on enhancements:-
First of all - I realise you're working mainly with common IOs and you're not looking at a set build. I understand that.
However, you still can frankenslot set IOs around level 25-30... in some cases that'd be cheaper than using the regular IOs, actually. Defense Debuff and ToHit Debuff sets are very cheap on the market because there isn't really much demand. That means you can get DefDebuff/Endrec and ToHitDebuff/Endrec enhancements from a couple of sets and drop them in Radiation Infection.
How you have it slotted currently is fine - but it requires six slots, and you probably won't have it slotted up that far until late in your build. You might save a slot using frankenslotted set IOs, and have better boosts early on, in the lower levels.
As Sofaspud pointed out, you can put Devastation hold procs in your powers... but realise that since many Radiation powers have -Def, you can slot the Achilles Heel -Res proc as well. You can even put one in Radiation Infection, actually, which is another reason why you may want to save a slot in that power.
But I'd concentrate on getting more damage enhancements into your powers, really.
I'm not a nazi who insists that every single attack MUST be fully slotted for damage, and slotting for secondary effects is silly. Nah. I don't do that.
However, you've claimed that doing damage is the primary function of this character. So if you're gonna do damage, for cryin' out loud, do damage.
Incidentally, unless you're incredibly attached to getting most of the Leadership pool, you might wanna consider dropping into Scirocco's Mu Mastery for Power Sink. Yes, I know, I know, I'm a Power Sink junkie, I recommend it for all characters who can get it... but in this case, it's not for the end-drain reasons. It's for the refilling of your end.
Rad/Rad can get end-thirsty, especially so if you're using Atomic Blast and EM Pulse - and you should be. Atomic Blast is of course a regular nuke that drains all end. EM Pulse doesn't drain end, but zeroes your recovery. If you use the two close to each other, or sequentially... you can end up in a tight pinch, endwise. In this situation, Power Sink is an invaluable tool. Not an essential tool, but you can see the help there.
EDIT: Also consider Ghost Widow's Soul Mastery pool - Soul Drain will really help you do more damage, and if you go Ghost Widow you can get Power Boost as well. I know I don't need to discuss the utility of Power Boost with you.
