Eh, it's mostly the part where the books they sold actually were 1984. The amusement factor trumps the facts. 
Also, if they'd been a print bookshop, this would have been the equivalent of breaking into your house and stealing back the books they'd
unintentionally wrongfully sold you. Leaving the money on the kitchen table, of course, but it still seems a bit of a shock.
