can't remember what it stood for.

Ge.N.i.E - General Non-linear Extrapolator (a cookie to the person who knows the reference without looking it up)
L.U.C.I. - Local User-friendly Cybernetic Interface
V.I.K.I. - Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence (stolen from the movie I, Robot)
Non-acronymic names:
Rei Toei - shamelessly stolen from Gibson, here, but somehow I like the idea of a singing AI
Mneme - the muse of memory from Greek myth
And of course, *any* name could be used by appending a dash-number to it. "Minerva-2", for example.
