I think that the fact that metas, however powerful they may be individually or as a group, won't be a match for a properly deployed and supported powersuit will have a big impact on the local social dynamics - there won't be any real -reason- for an X-Men style 'mutant panic', since neither of our emerging superhuman interest groups (boomers and mages, respectively) will be powerful enough to overwhelm the culture and interests that are already in place, which in turn means that the only real change will be the addition of terms like 'wagemage' to the popular vocabulary.
