Ahhh, this happened - I broke a 500 gallon tank, and made a _big_ wavespill. soaked and shovelled (it had assumed a consistency of Tasty Wheat) and re-tanked, got about 200 gallons recovered..
didn't notice much of anything later, except some decent plant growth in the area.
