Hrm... to be realistic, Ben and Gina themselves probably wouldn't be able to get involved - their place is making sure 36 Atalante stays up and running, not to mention taking charge of their high-profile ops (smashing Boskonian outposts and the like).
This is part of why the Space Patrol was formed, after all. Roughriders are more like UN Coalition Forces while the Patrol is more like Interpol. However, it doesn't mean there won't be any help coming out of Ben and Gina's quarter. Gina herself is a member of the Hacker Underspace, and she keeps Ben posted with all the important bits that go on there.
Plus, Ben's a machinist - Skuld has snapped him up as one of her own because he talks to his machines. That, and he loves to build awesome things (Skuld begs for a look at the Midnight during their visit to Fenspace in LoGG). He'll probably have the best ideas for safely taking down the mystery mecha.
Hrm... Gina gets wind of things, passes it on to Benjamin. Benjamin requests data and upon receipt, analyzes closely. Cue the Blue Hair, cause Ben's a half-mad scientist. In short order, he constructs a device for safely taking down the mech - he figures it's a zoid, but he's not sure which one. The device is inspired by a similar one used by police to stall-out high-performance cars that use electronic ignition/timing systems. Instructions read: Target area behind head of the mech - probe must catch as close to the motor control signal trunk (an analogue of the human spinal cord) to paralyze the mech. Effective for up to five minutes or until the probe gets dislodged - whichever comes first. Also capable of putting down Fen-ships - do not allow TSAB or other 'Danish authorities to obtain!
