Iran Satire

Ah, the 'Faux News' vs. 'Fox News' debate. Always stupid, Always. I say that because most of the time it involves people saying its 'Faux News' then not telling me why they hate it. When they do tell me 'Why?' it usually consists of things that the commentators have said... not the anchors or regular news... but the commentators, who do opinion peices and shows. Lets get this out of the way O'reili is a prick towards pretty much everyone. He is also a commentator, his job is to comment on the news, not just report it. That is the job of the anchors.
First off, lets be honest. The self proclaimed Mainstream Media in the US is a political party. It has been since is successfully got the US to lose Vietnam. Which was won militarily and lost politically. And Pol Pot thanks them for it.
The Politcal Party known as the Mainstream Media is in fact the ones that try people in the media. The reason that internet news, talk radio and Fox News are so popular is, because they aren't the Mainstream Media.
Clinton/OJ/High profile case of the week was/are tried in the mainstream media... before FoxNews existed as a large scale network. It was mostly the MM party organs known as the public broadcast networks, most newpapers, and CNN that did that.
I use to watch CNN, then flipped between CNN and CNN Headline news, then added in FOxnews and dropped first CNN proper then CNN headline news. The reason was I could stand to watch it. That and FoxNews can tell the diifference between reporters (who report the news) and commentators (who comment on the news). The MM doesn't undsterstand this or doesn't care.
Now a days journalists come out of journalist school with the idea that the job of a journalist is to in their words 'change the world'. Not report the news, but to change the world. This is literally and by definition not the job of a reporter. It is the polar opposit.
What really killed CNN for me is that when the US started losing soldiers in Iraq, CNN only had smiling, happy, grinning faces reporting every new statistic. For months on end, they still did last time I checked. They actually put out stories on how tragic it was that so many US soilders were losing limbs and being injured... so we had to pull out of their NOW!!! That the reason for the rise in wounded was that the medical tech saved more soldiers from dieing.
Yes, FoxNews does actually report news. This is why they say 'We report, you Decide'. The reporters are reporting news. When the commentators come on they are listed as such and state their opinions as such. It may suprize some of you to know that they do have Liberal commentators on FoxNews. They do have Liberal guests. They also have Conservative guests and commentators. Yes, FoxNews does have less hostile Bush Hating on it... however when the other choices are venomously against Bush all the time reguardless of what he says or does, one neutral story stating he jogs every morning is relatively full on pro-Bush.
The MM is also famous for reporting what happened, as it happens, without checking for confirmation. Then running with it for days on end and printing once on page E13/stating a 20 second retraction once at 4 am on random morning a retraction and ignoring it. FoxNews actually says repeatedly things like we are getting unconfirmed reports that such and such has happened. Even the commentators say things like 'if this proves true'.
Also, the MM does this freaky thing where all kinds of newpapers and TV stations use the same exact buzzwords and phrases the same day and run the exact same story. Occasionnally changing to the exact same alternate later on. This can only be done if they all reading the same blogs for news, have a shadow governemnt of sorts giving orders, or have some kind of creepy parasitic hive mind thing going on.
