The GOP has reinvented itself and survived before. News outlets... haven't been as adept.

Well, it's unfortunate for Shep Smith, but I think it's not a bad change overall. Fox can focus on their core target demographic of extreme-right loonies and the rest of us can be assured that with the one sane man gone there's nothing worth listening to coming from that direction.
