Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada Day!
#1
It's the founding-of-the-nation holiday up here north of the border... although we're under a heat dome at the moment (forecast says it'll "feel like" 41°C/106°F with the humidity today) so I doubt I'm going to attend the festivities. Anyway.

Happy Canada Day to all the other Canadians on the forum!

Back in January, my place of work did a survey, asking if we'd rather get the 1st or 3rd off.  Most of us chose the 3rd, so I'm working today but get a three day weekend, (yay!)

Downside is that I work in the Injection Molding department, which tends to be hot to start with.  spent all shift yesterday with a humidex around 43-46C(109-113F)  Sad

Of course, at those temps, we do get a 15min heat break each hour, and there's fans all over, but it's still damn hot.  Today and tomorrow aren't going to be much better.

Oh, we stayed hydrated. Multiple thunderstorms, multiple cases of flooding, multiple power outages (as of this posting, we're down to 137 parts of the city that are still without power). The festivities that normally get broadcast coast-to-coast-to-coast were cancelled.

Ah, well.
