		Need a codec...

In order to play this video, I need to install either a new piece of software or a new codec. Media Player Classic knows how to use external-to-it codecs, and thus should be able to play anything, so why should I clutter my system with software for one video? I don't want to install a codec pack - I've had bad experiences with them in the past.
So... anyone know where to find the codecs necessary to play an "MP4 file, using H.264 and AAC video and audio compression", and just those codecs?

as much as i dislike the weed like tendencies of quicktime on windows, it is the only thing I can think of that will easily play that.
If you already have it installed, no problem. If you don't you may want to wait for another option I don't know of.-Terry

		Oh, joy. Thanks, sweno.
I suppose I should see whether QuickTime Alternative will work. If not, then I'll have to finally install a piece of DRM-enabled software on this Win2k box... (yuk)

I rather expect VLC can take care of you - videolan.org or .com or possibly .net

The *latest* version of VLC seems to handle it fine w/o installing an additional codec (at least on my system). My previous version, which wasn't more than a few months old, played the video w/o sound, but after upgrading to the newest build, everything worked fine.
And BTW, that video? Yipe! I should have *known* what to expect when I saw the title....
