So, I've been lurking on the board for about a year and half now, on and off. During this time I've managed to come up with a few good ideas, and couple small chunks of story that when put all together, have pushed to me trying my hat at this game.  So let me offer my idea first for general approval, then I'll throw out the bits of story I have, and we'll see what develops.
There general idea goes as such. The main character, based off myself, wants to go to Space, but is a bit... leery of the risks involved with a bus or RV and taking off. This, added to mild claustrophobia led to him pretty much staying on Earth while the early Fen are heading out. Until he hears of the Island. Upon which, our hero's immediate response is to call everyone he trusts, and pitch the idea of doing that themselves. Kai, our hero, currently owns the 10 acres of Tennessee hills he was raised on, and sees no reason why they can't make it fly. Two years of covert work and they take off fall of 2010. Launched, the whole ship has the distinct look of a flying sea turtle. Thus the Leonardo takes flight.
Food is provided by interior hydroponic garden bays. Another bay is used for tobacco production. Originally just a small batch to provide pipe tobacco to some of the crew, this expanded into a full sized bay when it was realized that tobacco is a cash crop no on else in space is growing. This ends up providing enough capital that after a while a second turtle ship is constructed. The Donatello is built for increased crop production, but with a second heavy focus on research into creating safer, more flavorful tobaccos.
Once Boskonian activity starts though, things change. After an attack on the Donatello that was only driven off by luck and good neighbors, Kai begins construction of a third ship. This one, designed to be almost third again as large as the the other two, was a warship. Heavy hull, heavy armament. Primary goal was the defense of the Donatello and Leonardo. Unfortunately, things didn't quite work out. When the new ship was just over half finished, Boskonians attacked and managed the capture the ship. This infuriated Kai and the other turtle dwellers and led them trying, again to build a third turtle ship, this time in secrecy, hidden in the belt. Efforts were successful, the Raphaela is completed in 2013 and takes part in the anti Boskonian efforts.
Here is were things get a bit more fuzzy for me, timeline wise. At some point, the Michelangelo is built as a kinda of resort. It's supposed to be party ship. It's got clubs and hotels rooms, and weekly rave and generally a place to have fun.  Also at some point, reports come in of the captured Turtle ship seen as part of boskonian forces. Named the Slash, I'm uncertain if it eventually gets destroyed or reclaimed.
This is just general outline to show how what I have planned could fit in with the existing story. I've got a some stuff written that fills in the personal details and adds character, but I wanted to get some opinions first.

Welcome to Fenspace! (And welcome to the forums as well, even though you've been lurking here for a while.)

I do like the idea of there being more Unreal Estate in the setting. We've already established that this was one of the things that got the Earthside governments upset with people who went Up, but so far we've only seen The Island and Grover's Corners as examples, and two examples isn't nearly enough for the response that the idea gets is Washington. (I was going to comment that 10 acres seems pretty big for the Leonardo, but then I double-checked and saw that Grover's Corners is 250 acres, so no problems there.)

I have no objection to any of what you've posted so far...

Welcome to the forums, Kaiser!

Rob, I always felt that the (over)reaction by the US Government was less due to vast ... tracts of land heading into space than it was to the combination of the size and the proximity to Washington DC possessed by the Corners at the time of its launch.

But the very fact that we have a couple different terms for the concept in the lexicon does imply that there almost certainly are more than three instances. And therre are plenty of variations to explore to keep the idea fresh. What about someone who just waves his house by itself, and takes that into space, for example?

Here we see BNF and Fen-Dane, Carl Fredrickson, celebrating his arrival at Paradise Falls during his hair-raising adventure.  When threatened with being remanded to a retirement facility, Carl, in a fit of depseration, 'Waved his entire home as well as no small number of helium balloons.  His original plans had been to travel to Paradise Falls, a long held fantasy of him and his departed wife.  Much to Carl's surprise, instead of simply going airborne, the Handwavium-enhanced structure and baloons took off into orbit.  It was fortunate for him that Wilderness Scout Russel Edwards accidentaly stowed away on his front porch.
Having studied Amateur Astrogation for a merit badge, Russel was able to help Carl guide the erstwhile orbiter back down to ground, first in Paradise Falls.  At the conclusion of a grand adventure involving a newly discovered species of flightless bird and the 'retired' explorer Charles F. Muntz (wherein, sadly, Muntz lost his life in a fit of insanity) Carl returned to the US in Muntz's airship, The Spirit of Adventure, with Russel to make sure the boy got home safely.  Afterwards, in a shocking turn of events, Russel successfully filed for emancipation, citing his father for neglectful behavior and has since stayed with Carl and taking the surname Fredrickson for himself.
Afterwards, Carl's house remains at Paradise Falls.  The Baloons, having served their purpose in lifting the house, deflated and melted into the surounding cliff, allowing the residual Handwavium to reinforced the new foundation of the home.  As a quirk, the house always remains perfectly preserved, as though Carl's deceased wife was still there helping to keep the place up.
Carl has 'Waved The Spirit of Adventure and uses her to explore the solar system with Russel and Dug, the Alpha over Muntz's 'Wave-enhanced dogs, as his lieutennants.
Sorry guys.  After Bob said that, I just couldn't resist.  (^_^Wink

My Launch Story.
Not to be confused with My Lunch Story, which is just Kai eating a sandwich and lamenting the lack of cows in space.
September 29, 2010 7:41pm
“Last of the water tanks are full. We can now lift off at your discretion,” Shodan reported.
I
just nodded. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to say. After almost two
years of work, and who knows how much money, we were finally finished.
Ready for launch. I almost couldn’t believe it.
“Are we launching tonight?” Jareth asked.
I
shook my head, and turned to my friends... my crew. “No, we should take
some time to say goodbye. To any friends we are leaving behind. To
family. And most of all, we should say goodbye to the Earth. We won’t be
seeing her again for some time, if ever. We likely will never be seeing
North America again.”
“We
are all going onto America’s Most Wanted. I know it.” Micah laughed.
Which wasn’t too unlikely. Waving over ten acres of Tennessee hills was
crazy. And expensive. Which is why if this failed, we are going to be
spending a long time behind bars. After all, credit fraud and identity
theft were surprisingly easy for a ‘wavium AI. I had no idea how much
money we ended up borrowing with no intent on paying back, but I did
know one important thing. They can’t arrest you in space.
“Okay,
launch date is October 3rd. Shell goes up at 10, and lift off is 10:30
am. Let everyone who isn’t here know, if they aren’t under the dome when
it goes up, we are leaving them to explain everything to the
government.”
“We are launching on your birthday?” Micah asked.
Grinning,
I replied, “Sure. Makes sense that I leave the Earth same day I entered
it. Once we’re in the Black we can have a joint celebration for both
successfully pulling this off, and my birthday.”
----
It
was the day before launch, and I was walking the grounds. Mostly just
taking stock of the changes for that small group of ambitious geeks and
freaks have made to the land I grew up on. The largest differences were
of course, the extra houses. In addition to the two story red brick
house I was raised in, there were three newer structures. The most
normal which was a small single story wooden home. It was one of the
first things we built, due to the realization that we needed a lot more
the 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Of course as our crew expanded, so did our
housing needs. This led to the two more unusual buildings.
Jareth,
being at core, a steam-fantasy type, built himself a tall, three story
tower out of stone. And with the subterranean excavation we were doing,
we had more then enough stone. The interior of the whole thing was a
mixture of steam-punk brass gadgetry and high fantasy mystical crystals.
While, Kalen went with something more unusual. Waving the largest oak
tree on the property for a foundation, she went and build herself a
fully outfitted tree house. A round tree house. There isn’t a right
angle or straight line in the place.
Well,
after that everyone was clamoring to for their own dream home. I had to
put my foot down. Between the limited space, and the chance of
attracting the wrong attention, I had to forbid any more surface
structures.
Besides,
as I had to tell people, we have plenty of space below ground. And that
is the truth. Shodan had mining drones burrow deep below the topsoil
and excavated huge series of tunnels and caverns. This is where most of
our supplies were stored. Along with the beginnings of our hydroponics.
And we had water tanks. Lots of water tanks. Big water tanks. I had told
Shodan I wanted a years supply of water, but that was before we found
that our engine took water for fuel. Currently number are basically
educated guesses, but Shodan and Jareth both claim we should have at
least a month of running the engines full burn before the water becomes
scarce.
I had no intention of ever putting that much strain on the engines, and even if I did, there is water in space, right?
----
Launch Day
“Shell
goes up in five, people. Is everyone ready for this?” I asked, despite
already knowing the answer. We were all ready. Well, as ready as you can
ever be to pull off something this hair brained. Or maybe blue hair
brained, to use a term from the Fen we were about to join.
There
were just five of us here and we were in the Command Center, which was
pretty much our bridge. The ‘wave had apparently taken to the name,
turning the walls black, with the star like lights shining through. I
had blamed Jareth and Chris, them being the Power Ranger fen that they
were. Jareth just offered to built a giant holotube for Shodan to appear
in. I turned him down, deciding the risk we ended up with Zordon would
be to high.
Like
I said, there were just five of us here. Expect for Jareth, watching
over the engine, it was the whole first group. Those first five friends I
approach and offered the stars, too. Micah, Kalen, Grin, Christa, and
of course, myself having started off this crazy idea.
Instead
of a viewing globe, we had a large row of monitors, showing all kinds
on data. The only ones I was currently worried about where the ones
showing Jareth in the Engine room, and the one showing the status of the
dome mechanism. Everything was ready to begin.
I took a deep breath, and gave the order that would bring us out into the open. “Raise the dome.”
All
around the border, a large wall began raising. Up and up it went, until
it had reached the top of the tree line. From here, large curving rods,
began telescoping out. Then rods began to extend from other rods. The
whole process took over 15 minutes, after which there was a pattern of
rods in the sky that vaguely resembled the pattern of of turtle shell.
“Framework extended. No alignment issues to report.” Shodan informed us. I heard someone breathe a sigh of relief.
“Okay.
Start growing the shell. We need it complete and stable as soon as
possible. I’m sure we’re attracting attention already.”
At
the order, a mechanism in the framework began stretching a clear film
across all the gaps. This was a substance Grin had come up with. Some
kind of high surface tension liquid made of ‘waved diamond or something.
All I really could tell you was that once solid, the stuff seemed
unbreakable, and that Shodan had to do a lot of creative computer work
to get our hands on enough of the expensive chemicals required to make
it.
As
each gap was covered in film, a large electric current was passed
through, lighting the whole sheet up with glowing sparks. This was the
catalyst needed to solidify the shell.
As
this happened time after time, over what would be the dozens of plates,
I began wishing I was up on the surface to witness it first hand. I’m
sure it was an amazing show. But it had be suggested by the more safety
conscious among us that everyone stays underground during shell growth
and liftoff. I had to reluctantly agree.
When Shodan announced that everything was ready, I turned to window showing Jareth.
“Okay, Birdie, get you ass in gear here. Take us up.”
He gave me a face splitting grin, did something a console I couldn’t see, and shouted out, “To infinity! And beyond!”
I
couldn’t help but smile myself. As the engines were brought online, I
could feel a strong vibration. I had be expecting some kind of lurch as
we broke free from the ground, but we started rising smoothly. And
faster then I expected.
I
kept expecting Shodan to report fighters incoming, but that never
happened. Granted we were moving much faster then I had expected us to
in atmosphere. And before I realized it Shodan was announcing that we’ve
hit Orbit.

Okay, quick question: what did they need all that money for?

Secondly, why ID Theft? A wavium computer could have easily wormed the money out of a series of corporate expense accounts and no one would've been the wiser.

Not KD, but I'd bet it's for building the houses, the excavation equipment, etc. That stuff doesn't come cheap on Earth; sometimes hardened Fenspacers with access to lots of handwaved robotic labor forget that. Wink

The VVS ran into similar problems when buying Ptichka. The orbiter was "cheap," only a few hundred thousand Euros. Hiring the An-225 to haul it from Kazakhstan to Wisconsin cost a hell of a lot more.

Building materials mostly. And food stores. Excavation and construction equipment. Parts for Shodan's mining and construction drones. The chemical needed for the shell. Money for everyone to eat and life on, since building this thing was a full time job. Fuel money for the equipment and the vehicles.
And maybe ID theft is the wrong term. I was figuring on credit fraud. Lots of credit fraud, with Shodan setting up fresh new ID with artificially good credit. So, I was thinking credit cards and loans. I had even considered Kai having Shodan send a notice out to all the banks and card companies, letting them know that they had been victimized by the Dread Steam Pirate Kaiser, Captain of the Leonardo including a list of everything they weren't getting paid for and all the identities assumed.
This of course later coming to bite them in the ass if they ever need to borrow anything from anyone ever again.

So as I mentioned, I've been lurking for quite some time. During this time, my ideas and concepts of how I can contribute have changed.
Below is one of my early works. It was written after I'd come up with the idea of using Unreal Estate, but before Turtle theme or I had a clue what the character would due once in the black.
Still, I'm rather fond of this piece, so I dung it today, gave it a fresh coat of paint to make fit a bit better, and here it is for your approval.
Layer: Lain
It was almost black. The dark almost black of a
unpowered computer monitor. But every now and then, there was a strange
glint of bright green. It was handwavium.
    It was a strain
I'd been working on for over a month now. Feeding it disc after disc of
data. Data on everything cyberpunk I could think of. Copies of video
games, copies of movies and animes, scans of gamebooks, and ebooks of
every cyberpunk novel I could find, I fed it all to the ever-growing
drum of goo. I fed it everything cyberpunk I'd ever heard of, then had
Shodan scour the net for more. She provided movies and books I'd never
heard of, games I'd never played, almost all of them in languages I
didn't speak. I burned the discs and fed the goop the data.

I worked on the strain every day, first thing in the morning. Oh, it
wasn't the only strain I was cultivating, and of course in those hectic
days, it wasn't the only project running, but it was special. This
project was going toward a personal dream of mine. It wasn't vital for
dome operations, although I suspected it was going to help, it wasn't
something that would be vital to keep us safe and (relatively) sane in
the Great Starsea. It was also the only piece of "work" I did on Rest
Saturdays. I didn't see it as work, and watching the 'wavium slowly
dissolve the discs while I dreamed of the possibilities was fairly
relaxing.
Finally, though, one Saturday morning, I woke to
find that the fifty gallon drum I was holding it in was full. Growth had
been slow with this strain, and the day before, the barrel had been
only about three-fourths full. I had fully expected it to take another
two weeks to get done, but apparently the 'wave had other plans. It was
done growing, so now it was time to begin construction.

After filling a small test tube with the goo to archive with other
'completed' 'wavium strains, I instructed Shodan to let the group know
I'd be out of contact for most of the day, and prepared to begin work. I
grabbed some bottled water, mp3 player, gathered my materials, and
closed the door behind me.
Back when we were out scouring
the thrift stores for the furnishing of the new houses, I had started
buying up computers and computer equipment I came across in those
places. Most of it was outdated, practically ancient by the standards of
the day. I think the newest piece of working equipment in the whole
batch was prebuilt HP machine from '01. But most of it still ran, and
the ones that didn't I was counting on 'wave magic, and with how the
'wave improved performance, I had a plan.
    Disassembling case
after case, I started to paint everything with the goo. Everything.
Components, cases, cables, fans, power supplies, everything. As I
worked, I listened to music on my headphones. It was a custom playlist,
all soundtracks from movies and games with a heavy cyberpunk feel. It
took most of the day, and once I was done coating everything, I took a
small break to catch a bite to eat, inform everyone that I wasn't dead,
and let Micah know I'd be missing the regular D&D game scheduled for
the evening. It was just getting dark around this time, but it was
still early Spring, so it wasn't too late. I went back into the room,
informed Shodan I probably wouldn't be done until after midnight, and
shut the door again.
The 'wave had dried or soaked in or
whatever it does by this point, but hadn't made any physical changes
that I could see. I figured nothing would happen until I finished
reassembling the machines and slapped a final coating of the goo on
everything. So that's what I set out to do. Carefully building cases,
replacing screws and slotting in chips and cards. Once a machine was
finally snapped together, I gave the whole thing a final coat and moved
on to the next case.
I had well over dozen PCs, several dead
XBoxes and PS2s, a few old laptops, and a handful of iMac G3s, and a
single ancient Apple II, all of which I deconstructed, gooped, repaired,
and gooped again that day. And that wasn't counting the peripherals. I
also gooped monitors, keyboards, mice, trackballs, routers, switches,
surge protectors, scanners, printers, speakers, microphones, and a
couple of webcams.  I only used about a quarter of my 'wavium, but I had
never planned on using it all, and a quarter of 50 gallons is still a
whole damn lot of goo.
It was after midnight by this point. But
I was so caught up with what I was doing, I didn't even notice. And I
was not done. Everything still had to be connected. Networked. I strung
around and connected power and peripherals, then I measured and cut more
Ethernet cables than I could count, crimping heads and making
connections, dipping every cable into the 'wave as I made it, double
checking each connection as it was made, and stacking towers and
arranging monitors and keyboards.
    And then, I was done.
Everything had been finished and 'waved. There, in that small,
subterranean room built by my father for the express purpose of keeping
his computers, but never used before, I had built a network.  I flipped
the switches to turn the whole thing on, laid back on the cable strewn
floor to watch it start up and with the strains of Duvet by Boa in my
ears I... fell asleep.
---
Next thing I knew I was
hazily waking up with the distinct complaints from my body letting me
know I had slept somewhere with insufficient padding. Seeing as how I
couldn't remember getting to bed last night, I had a pretty good idea of
what had happened. So I wasn't particular alarmed at waking up on the
floor.
What was surprising was the warm presence of someone
sleeping on me. One of my friends crashing in my bed rather then their
own has been known to happen before, but usually not when I'm on the
floor. So I opened my eyes to take a look.
"Bloody hell!" I swore, starting back a little after I managed to focus on what I was seeing.

Looking up at me was a young girl, with Asian features, and brown
hair. She looked to be about 14, dressed in a small white slip, and with
a distinctive hair cut, I had a pretty good guess who I was looking at,
if not exactly the faintest clue on how I could be looking at her.
    "Hello. I am Lain."

Yep. I was right. Lain Iwakura was curled up, laying half on top
and half beside me and using my chest as a pillow. She was solid
feeling, and warm. So not obviously a hologram or a android, although
both of those could be faked with sufficient technology. My thoughts
went roughly as follows: Fuck! How? Why? Cool! Fuck! But how? Why? Cool!
Fuck! After continuing that cycle for a while I realized she was still
looking up at me, and I was staring at her.
"Um.. Hello, Lain. I'm Kaiser. Um... Don't take this the wrong way, but how are you here?"
"I belong here." Well.... Can't argue with that. But that doesn't answer my question. Let's try another track, I thought.
"Okay... Don't be offended, but what are you? Android, hard light hologram, hallucination?"
"I told you. I am Lain."

Hm... That answered nothing. I decided to try something completely
different. I began to sit up slowly, and she moved off my chest to sit
up next to me.
"Well, good morning Lain. I'm going to get
some food, and let my friends know I haven't died in here. Would you
care to join me?"
She shook her head. "I belong here."

"Okay... If you say so. I'll be back in a little bit." I rose up
and headed to the door. I paused for a moment and looked back at her.
Lain has grabbed a keyboard and began working at one of the computers.
This actually distracted me from the shock of her existence long enough
to look around the room. The 'wavium had done it's work in the night,
expanding and improving the devices in the room. The drum with the
handwavium in it was missing, and in the corner it had sat was a small
futon mattress. The whole room had a distinct resemblance to Lain's room
from the anime, which I admit had been a major inspiration for the
whole project, so the resemblance isn't surprising. The lack of leftover
goo and the young teenage girl, however, where big surprises.

I shrugged over the matter and decided to work it out after food.
Opening the door and stepping into the hall, I heard the sarcastic tones
of Shodan.
"Well, I see you didn't die in there. It's 12:32
PM. Micah and Jareth decided to head out on the scheduled supply run
without you. Kalen and Grin are laying down border, while the others are
working on the new house. So, is your secret project done?"

"Oh, it's done. Unexpected results are the phrase of the day." I
thought of something and stuck my head back in the room. "Lain? Can you
do me a favor and plug that Ethernet cable into the wall socket there?" I
pointed to the one I'm referring to. I hadn't connected to room up to
the house network just in case I accidentally spawned an evil AI or
super-virus or something. But I figured Lain is a pretty big enough
Quirk, that the rest should be safe.
She turned and nodded, "In a moment."
    "Okay," I closed the door.
"Who was that?" Shodan asked. "Did you build another AI or an android in there?"
"Mm... Don't know." I replied, as I headed towards the stairs.
"You don't know? What do you mean you don't know?"

"I suggest you quickly make your self familiar with Serial
Experiment Lain," I instructed as I headed up the stairs and into the
kitchen.
Shodan responded "I'm already familiar with that series. Have you made a Lain based AI?"

"Told you, I don't know." I went ahead and explained the situation
that I woke to, and the brief conversation with Lain. While, I'm doing
this I made a few sandwiches, then started to eat one.
"What are you going to do?"
I shrugged and finished my first sandwich, "Find out if she's hungry."
---

I entered the room holding a plate containing the sandwiches and
two bottles of water. I found Lain typing away at a computer. The
overhead light was off, but the monitor's glow was more than enough to
see by. She didn't look up as I enter.
"Hey, I brought you some water and some food." She turned and looked at me.
"Thank you, but I do not need it."
I nodded at this, and asked, "Are you an android of some kind?"
She shook her head. "I am Lain."

Well... I decided I likely wasn't getting anymore out of her than
that. I munched on a sandwich and opened one of the bottles of water.
"Would you like to come outside, see the rest of the house and the property?"
Again, she shook her head, "I belong here."
I was beginning to see a pattern in her answers. "Okay. What do you want to do?"

She frowned for a bit, as though the question were unexpected and
she didn't have an answer. She began to speak slowly, as though choosing
her words carefully, "I want to live. I want to meet other computers. I
want to meet the computers of the Fen. Most of all, I want to stay
here."
I couldn't help but grin at that. "Well, I think we
can arrange that. Introduce yourself to the local AIs, and tonight after
dinner you can meet the rest of the crazies aboard this project.
Welcome to the family, Lain."
She smiled at that, "Thank you."

My, how strange... But also very cool.

Sounds like she's a bit like AC Peters - a full-on Handwavium Construct.

Oh, definitely.

Over the net, Lain is outgoing, friendly, helpful, and completely disdainful of most concepts of cyber-security. She's the kind that will break into a system, snoop around, and then leave a nice long, detailed report on how to improve your defenses.

She's also especially fond of tweaking the noses of arrogant AI's that think just because they are cybernetic intelligences, it makes them better hackers. She's not better then all of them, or possibly even most of them. But she's good enough to play the occasional prank.

This has led to a has led to a long running, but mostly friendly rivalry with Shodan.

Okay, I've got the basics of what will become Lain's wiki entry, I think. Having no wiki experience my self, I'm going to wait a bit before I start throwing things up there.
Also, I'm on the look out for a decent name for my group. One friend recommended Mutants, referencing TMNT. I'm not overly fond of that, and think it suggests everyone has weird biomods or are a bunch of X-Men fen. Another friend recommended Koopas, due to the turtle influence. I kinda of like this one, but I'm not sure it fits. Although... with the right details, it could be made to fit I guess.
Any suggestions for a decent name for the group would be highly appreciated.
Anyway, current details on Lain

grown strain of handwavium. After passing out from exhaustion once the
computer systems were finished, Kai woke to find that the unused ‘wave
and the steel oil drum it was sitting in had disappeared, and Lain was
there instead. Since then Kaiser has adopted Lain as a daughter.
Extremely withdrawn in person, her personality seems to do a complete
180 over the Net. She joined the Hacker Underspace, and quickly gained a
reputation for being an excellent source of helpful advice in regards
to anything computer related. She also gained a reputation as a bit of a
prankster, especially when dealing with hackers too arrogant for their
own good.

Handwavium abilities:
Born
of the Wave: Lain is a ‘Wavium Construct. Created from a leftover batch
of custom ‘wave in a steel drum that Kaiser was silly enough to take
his eyes off of, Lain’s internal structure is mostly just handwavium
wrapped around a steal skeleton.

Wait,
what’s your WPM?: Her handwavium nature gives her increased reflexes
and reaction times. She mostly uses this for improved hacking and data
processing.

Quirks:
I belong here: Rarely leaves her room on the Leonardo. Never leaves the Leonardo itself.

What
do you mean, she isn’t an AI?: Lain’s heavy presence on the Net, along
with her physical isolation, has lead many to believe she is an awakened
AI.

Schooled
by a 10yr old: Exceptionally fond of games, and good enough that Kai
won’t play anything that her reaction time help her with anymore.

Trivia:
When
the Michelangelo was opened for business, Lain commissioned an android
body based on her own form. She used this body primarily to DJ the
Saturday night rave.

Shortly
after Lain’s creation, a minor feud sprang up between her and Shodan.
Sparked off by the fact that Lain could hack rings around the AI, over
the course of the next couple of weeks, this rivalry eventually reach
the point that Shodan completely ceased all her normal duties just to
try to get back at Lain. At this point Kai had to step in to mediate a
truce, otherwise construction of the Leonardo was going to come to a
halt. Lain presented a peace offering of System Shock 3, a completely
original game created herself in which one plays as Shodan and takes
over the universe. Shodan was charmed by the game, but persists with a,
much friendlier, rivalry.

I think you mean either "steel" or "stolen". Otherwise, looks great!
