Yes, I know it says "Kepler-186f." Kepler-186 is 500ly from Sol, and only the Miranda has gone that far Out yet - that we know about. Of course, there's nothing stopping us from ... liberating ... this public-domain image for our own purposes.

So ...

Tell me about this system in Fenspace. If you don't want to go a year's travel one-way to Kepler-186, there are still plenty of http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... terstellar]systems within 20ly of Earth that haven't been described in Fenspace terms yet - pick one and go to town.

May I take the complete lack of responses in a week as a sign that the Collective doesn't care about the Interstellar part of the setting?

You may take it as a sign that I didn't see the post.....

Planet Albemuth, orbiting Formalhaut. Thus far only imaged by probe - and named by a Philip K. Dick fan. Given the age of Formalhaut, it is suspected that Albemuth is another terraformed world, like Arcadia..... I may have something more. Hmmm..... A more specific reason why they gave it that name....

Solely because I just finished reading that book yesterday.

"Its part of the 'Far reaches' group... a potential planet detected by Scientists from Earth but too far away for a colonization effort. I think the Trekkies have been talking about sending a probe with an on-board AI to the targets near Keppler for ages, but as always they are still talking."

"Hey, don't forget the Outreach Project!"

"You know damned well that this is just a myth... the Warsies don't have the resources to send away a secret colonization mission to a solar system hundreds of lightyears away!"

"So you bought the usual cover story?"
