Live-action "Gunslinger Girl"
Live-action "Gunslinger Girl"

I don't have time to watch this now, but I'm reliably informed it's worth a look:

(No, of course it's a parody. They used the music from Banana Splits, after all!)

I hate to spoil the spoiler, but...

No, it's not a parody. It's a trailer for an actual movie called Kick-Ass coming out in April.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

I recall reading somewhere that in the old Schwarzenegger film Last Action Hero, there's a point where the kid
mouths off in the same scene as Arny, and he commented in an interview it was actually really hard to deliberately swear on camera in front of people he
idolized. I wonder how much prep work it took to get that little girl to mouth off like that in front of camera.

O...KAY....

Did anyone else notice that the music playing in the background was the theme from BANANA SPLITS? Or am I just insane?

Logan -- that's what Rob had whited out in the first post. And given what the movie looks like on IMDB, it's clearly a deliberate attempt to go for a
subtle bit of cognitive dissonance.

Subtle? I'm already O.o from this. That said, I'm dragging my dad to see it. He LOVES rotten movies like this. Big Grin

Yeah... Not exactly Gunslinger Girl. More like Mystery Men with kids instead of adults... and with ultra-violence.

(free wi-fi at the train station today...)

Well, it was represented to me as a Gunslinger Girl parody... Sorry about that.

But, hey - it's worth watching, right?

Oh yes. Yes indeed.

I'm not alone, either. I've been showing that red-band trailer to whoever I can on my ship, and the reactions are pretty much the same: they wanna see
it yesterday. Smile

BTW, did anyone pause and check out the flyers/posters on the board behind the "hero" at just before the 1 minute mark? I could make out "Genki
Gear" and "Lovely Angels", and I'm wondering what other shout outs might be buried there.
