Considering how big my pile of unwatched anime is right now, I don't mind. Much.

Next time, though...

I did a bit of digging and most of the DVDs I clicked on from that list can be shipped to Canada. Most DVDs sold on Amazon.com can be shipped anywhere in the world.
So no, Canadians aren't out of luck there. Order away! Smile

Any thoughts on if this is worth it?  I'm having trouble deciding.

I recall that that series was reviewed as being one of the best ten of the year it was released, so I'd say "go for it"...

Just doing a bit more research, does anyone know what the difference is between the set I linked to before (this one) and the Anime Legends set?  The price is significantly lower for the Legends one, but I can't find what the actual content difference is.  (I also can't find a definite runtime for the Legends set.  ANN says 660 minutes, Amazon says 650, and Rightstuf says 780.  Weird.)

Looks like the first one is just the huge box with all the individual dvds in the box, while the Legends version is a "brick of doom" box set... Legends versions are usually rereleases a year or so after the original release...
There is no coincidence, only necessity....

I'd go for the Anime Legends box myself, as it's half the price.
EDIT: Page count *ninja'd*

I'm most likely going to get the Legends one, but I'm curious as to what was cut from the other set. The runtime is about 100 minutes less in the Legends one than the big box set, assuming Amazon's runtimes are correct.

Sometimes extra features are cut in the "brick of doom" sets. (I seem to remember ADV having a really bad reputation for this.) I don't quite get it, it's not like they didn't already spend the money to make the extras...

Still, it's part of why I tend to go the extra mile to get the original releases on series I really like.
