That is driving my brain crazy.

The phonemes are close enough to almost be words, and I keep trying to figure out what they are saying.

(is there a version of this with subtitles?)

I have heard Shakira sing english phonetically, before she really understood what she was saying.

And I could understand that, it sounded like a strange accent, but I could grok it.

This I can't

It's literally gibberish. It was written to be a rough equivalent of a "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot."
Most subtitles are the subtitler's "pattern recognition" at work. Y'knw the part of the brain that's responsible for mondegreens like "There's a bathroom on the right." in CCR's "Bad Moon Rising".
There's the only Subtitle from the original vid, which is the song's title, "Prisencolinansinaiciusol". This usually gets subtitled as "Freezing cold and ants and I chew soul."

I'll have you know that a sufficiently thick Scotish, Irish or even Welsh accent can confuse the hell out of most Americans. However, I don't think most Americans have trouble with the Cardiff accent. Wink

Is there something going on over at youtube? Because their videos aren't loading for me. Not the site - the site loads just fine. It's the videos that fail to load, leaving nothing but a blank black box on my screen. Also, this isn't the first time it's happened - it seems to be an on-and-off occurrence, and it only happens at Youtube. Other sites like Dailymotion and Collegehumor work just fine, so I know it's not my machine.

It may be an adblocker having an adverse reaction to some of youtube's in-video ads. Use an adblocker with Chrome causing youtube to fail to load right for me, which is why I don't like Chrome.

Also. I just realised how badly I need to get my feet out the door.

I've had the opposite problem. YouTube loads just fine in Firefox with adblockers and scriptblockers and flashblockers running and YouTube whitelisted... but I've had troubles with Vimeo embeds and whatever Daily Show/Colbert Report use for the playback software.

Ayup. I could tell, once the chimp was given that gun, that things were going to suddenly turn very, very bad. And I was not disappointed. Smile

I'm not sure if DS is in on it, but that is a planet of the apes http://www.imdb.com/news/ni12558599/]viral video.
Rupert Wyatt (the R. Wyatt in the intro text) is the director of the new film.

I doubt that any chimp would not drop a gun if they fired it. It's loud and it bucks against their hand, both things I would think would be unexpected, and therefor to be feared (at least at first).
Also, any researcher worth their name would not label it as 'ape', but would instead use the more specific 'chimpanzee'.
But the movie isn't called "Rise of the Chimpanzees" so there you go.

The "20th Century Fox Research Library" tag in the lower left is also a dead giveaway.

Actually the Research Library label made me think it was legit at first.

Most of the large studios maintained libraries of past material (production notes, alternate takes, original prints, etc) that acted as both an archive, and a research faculty (figuring out how to preserve old film, and how to make the next generation of film better).

I'm not sure if fox is still running theirs, I remember reading a couple of years ago that they might have to shut it down.

But the film quality is too good for a handheld camera (at least any camera that a primate researcher could afford), and the camera man isn't saying anything. Both of which were big red flags for me.

As is the title of the author, "apeswillrise." This is for the new movie.
The Trunk Monkey, however, is a real set of commercials.
