If they had a stretch goal of porting the app you need to control the bulbs over to the BlackBerry, I'd give it a go...

You can do it from a computer as well, so even if they didn't make the mobile app...

This interests me and I think their Melbourne office is near me, how ever I've been slowly buying the Philips LED bulbs and installing them as needed.

Well, Laser cutters, anyway.
This one looks more pro, but is smaller and much more expensive.
This one is the one that really tempts me, although after my debacle with 3D printing I really should know better. $1500 is quite a bit, but it's a heck of a lot less than any equivalent off-the-shelf unit.

I'm not sure if anyone else here plays Sentinels of the Multiverse, but they have announced a new expansion.
If you haven't played, you should (it's got superheroes)! It's lots of fun (2-5 players, sweet spot at 3-4 players) and takes about 45 minutes. And TONS of replayability.
2 of my friends have the game, but I'm still getting the full set myself. If only to make sure I can drag around my own copy of the game.
ETA: and we are closing in on the final day. If you like co-operative card games, or deck based strategy games, and have $50 to spare, I think it's totally worth it.
The big stretch rewards so far (an extra hero, villain, and environment) are totally worth the $10 they charge for shipping.

3D Printing Get-one-Give-one

KickStarter for a new, smaller, portable version of the PrintrBot 3D printer. The higher donation level is for two units, with the hope that you might donate the 2nd one to a local school. I'm not sure of the timing on this -- most people I know are strapped due to Christmas shopping.

Anima is also a minis game and an RPG. The minis are freakin' gorgeous. And expensive, they run about $10-12 each, minimum. It's a very anime-esque anachronistic-medieval sort of world.
