Kick ALL the Starters!
RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
From the group that brought us the Riding Bean DVD release, comes a new kickstarter
Gunsmith Cats Explosive edition

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mad...ve-edition
Funded in less than 4 and a half hours, with weeks in which to accumulate stretch goals.

EDIT:
Also a Girl Genius card based game, called 'The Works'
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/che...ref=thanks
RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
Almost five years after the record-setting success of the Exalted Third Edition Kickstarter (and a little over a year since the long-delayed fulfillment thereof), the first fatsplat is ready for backers, and its campaign funded in about two hours:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200...-exalted-3

Successor in interest to First Edition's Exalted: The Dragon-Blooded and Second's The Manual of Exalted Power: Dragon-Blooded. I'm planning to back at the level that includes the companion volume and the upcoming The Realm sourcebook.

Spinnerette: Mayhem in the Midwest comic & Mega Webby plush Kickstarter.

The new edition of the Girl Genius: The Works card game is funded with about 2.5 weeks to go. The GG website promises a Jagermonster poker deck add-on is coming.

Something extremely different.

Yesterday, the Humboldt Broncos hockey team bus was hit when the team was on its way to an away game. Fourteen are dead (including the coach), fifteen are injured - that's the entire team.

Schlock Mercenary T-shirts
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/how...s?ref=card
This one is nearing the end (closes Apr 10th, at 2pm Eastern)

Well past the minimum, there are currently 6 designs to choose from (all but one coming in a variety of colors)
there are pledge options for both a single shirt or a 3 shirt bundle (their next stretch goal will make it a 4 shirt bundle)

Correction: they've passed that stretch goal already, so it's officially a 4 shirt bundle now
RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
Another Kickstarter that I've discovered near the end, a new Savage Worlds setting:  Freedom Squadron
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sup...=discovery

Quote:Freedom Squadron is a high-octane "Love Letter to 80's Cartoon Action Heroes," featuring new rules and new options for Savage Worlds.
Essentially it's a 'GI Joe vs Cobra' style setting Smile
just over 2 days to go at this point

Stab A Panda, a "would you rather" party game for 3-8.

"Children of the Fields", a new miniatures set from Crooked Dice, focused around horror-movie-esque antics in the British countryside. Villagers, huntsmen, May Queens, the Wicker Man, and more. Includes a program guide and stat cards for their "7TV" miniatures game, which by the way is excellent.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/330...ecommended

The Omni-Dice. I'm not pledging this one, but it looks cute.

OGRE Miniatures Second Edition
For those who want a better set of minis rules
Can also include a big box of minis for those who missed previous kickstarters.
Sucrose Octanitrate.

For those of you who were interested in the Gunsmith Cats Kickstarter, Kenichi Sonoda is starting one for a new Riding Bean production. The basic goal is funding for a five-minute proof-of-concept film, but if they get enough money they'll do a 20-minute piece.

Once again, this isn't a rerelease, but a new production from the ground up. KS page here.

RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
Alright, i have never started one of these before and now i have three probables to back. The first one is a link off the Gunsmith Cats update that i just received this week, and is an expansion on the universe, Bean Bandit.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bea...me-project

the second is one that i would like to kick into because of nostalgia, and it has 13 days to make about 2500 or else it doesn't fly. 198X looks to be an interesting video game of nostalgia, something for those of us who grew up in the old arcades to play

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/110...ref=thanks

Edit: The third one has kind of a Shadowrun feel to it for all you dystopia fans out there, Prodject Sense seems to really have that dystopia cyberpunk thing at a real visceral level. already backed and has a month to go so no rush here

Not quite two-thirds there... but it's still the first day. And, yes, they'll ship to Canada.

Into the final week for this one

They've reached their primary goal, now they are hoping to reach $380,000 to make a 20 minute show.
RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
This one's giving me a touch of a Fen Space vibe, FTL Y'all Tales From the Age of the $200 Warp Drive is a comic anthology from Iron Circus based on a twelve year old RPG.net thread posing the question, "What if six months from now someone posted detailed plans online for a faster than light space drive that could be assembled from $200 of easily obtained parts?" It's in the last 52 hours of the campaign and has already passed the funding goal and the one stretch goal (fancy cover when $25K was reached). There's also a Kickstarter Bonus for the contributors, who will receive an additional $5 per page above the base level payment for ever $5K over goal that's raised

Edit: And official announcement has been made that the contributors page rates are being increased $30/page due to the Kickstarter bonus.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer.

Creator Jacob Randolph Wrote:Final Bid is a cooperative, auction-based tabletop game where you play as the actors in a film. A fictional film.
Not fictional as in "the events portrayed are not real." I mean this film doesn't exist yet.
You're about to make it.
Final Bid is a game for 3-6 players and takes about 2-4 hours to play. In Final Bid, players must auction off parts of their character in order to take control of the story. The one who is willing to put the most on the line will win the right to decide what happens next in the film.
Gamble it all to make tomorrow yours.

Final Bid is an updated and expanded second edition of Law's Out, a game I wrote 4 years ago over a weekend. Law's Out is a game about playing as the actors in a spaghetti western style film. The rules are very similar, so for the duration of this Kickstarter, you'll be able to get Law's Out in PDF for free!

Final Bid expands from there to include four other films. Law's Out is still included in the book, but you can also play out these film genres:

Xenohunter: A sci fi horror picture, like Alien or The Thing. Roles include the Captain, the Hunter, and the Beast.

The Havoc Engine: A cyberpunk dystopia movie, like Hunger Games or The Matrix. Roles include the Cog, the Glitter, and the Machine.

Worth Their Salt: A noir mystery flick, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit or The Maltese Falcon. Roles include the Detective, the Don, and the Fatale.

Dramatis Personally: A spy thriller film, like GoldenEye or Kingsman: The Secret Service. Roles include the Ace, the Mastermind, and the Shadow.

If you want to see what it looks like in play, Randolph is streaming a play of Xenohunters [sic] by Six Feats Under [sicer] tonight at 7 Central on his Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/gnome7

He has an additional motive: with just over a week to go, the campaign is creeping up on half-funded, so he hopes to drum up some publicity. I believe that watching livestreams, like eating granola, is a decision that should be left to the individual's conscience, but I want people to know it's happening.

World of Darkness has another RPG Kickstarter with Geist: The Sin-Eaters 2nd Edition. Already funded and starting in on the stretch goals.

RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
Back in 2013, I backed the Kickstarter for the second edition of Tales from the Floating Vagabond, the cult-classic TRPG "that reaches new depths in High Adventure and [...] new heights in Low Comedy." Between when it funded and when it would have shipped, designer Lee Garvin was embarked onto a medical misadventure that has long since devoured our contributions.

It turns out this was neither the first nor the last time the universe has tried to kill him. Now you can reenact those attempts in card game form and help pay his ongoing medical bills:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/334...lee-garvin

About a quarter of the way in and a third of the way funded, but still needing all the help it can get, much like its subject.

"Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose kung fu skills were the stuff of legend..."

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mod...a-board-ga

Two basic pledge levels: one with Po and the Furious Five as playable characters, plus Tai Lung (from the first movie) as big bad with his legions of wolves and oxen; the other adding in Oogway, Shifu and the other Masters as playable, plus Lord Shen and General Kai (from the sequels) as bosses, bringing their respective Gorilla Guards and Jombie Badgers. With about a week to go, the campaign has made its nut and will be unlocking stretch goals any time now. Budgetary constraints prevent me backing it, but I thought everybody ought to know.
RE: Kick ALL the Starters!
Just received my TerrainCrate pledge from Mantic.

I've been hearing some disturbing rumors lately about World of Darkness' new publisher catering to white supremacist groups, anyone had any confirmation on that?

One would think that would have been added to their Wikipedia article if there was any truth to it. I see nothing listed there about any controversies at all.

Well, it's not Wikipedia, but here's one gamer's take on why he can't and won't continue to support White Wolf "a bunch of Swedish edgelords". (Edited to go to the Internet Archive because the original version was taken down after sparking a great deal of heat.) I was already planning to not-buy V5 after the We Eat Blood and All Our Friends are Dead debacle (referenced in the article), but I'm still backing the Geist kickstarter, and will continue to support Onyx Path's Chronicles of Darkness material until and unless the sort of thing described in the blog post starts creeping in (which I don't expect). OPP take this seriously enough to have opened the latest Monday Meeting Notes with a disclaimer:

Richard Thomas Wrote:Onyx Path is against Nazis. We do not support Nazis, and if you are reading this and self-identify as a Nazi, we don’t make these games for you. Don’t buy them, or steal them, or read them, or play them.

Simplistic and low-hanging fruit, maybe, but this is something I thought was painfully obvious about us. Yet, clearly it was not.

Now you know, and knowing is half the Mandatory Educational Content Segment™. If we're going to discuss this further (which is probably not a good idea), it should go to Politics.
