Sky and Telescope: "http://www.skyandtelescope.com/news/Sma ... 81431.html]Small Asteroid 2014 AA Hits Earth"

TL;DR: An asteroid discovered 01:16 UTC 1 January 2014 hit the Earth at ~02:30 UTC 2 January 2014. Luckily, it was smaller than the one over Chelyabinsk.

Of course, this won't increase funding for near-Earth asteroid detection. It didn't do any appreciable damage, after all...

the same sovereign, servants of the same law."

I've seen one that made me wish for a Russian dashcam shortly afterwards. However at the time I was closing one eye and looking for a safe bit of roadside to rapidly veer onto.
