Saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
#1
My grandmother passed away this afternoon.
She was 92 years old.
She'd been very ill for a couple of weeks, and it looks like her heart couldn't keep up with it.
I wasn't able to be with her today, but I was there last night when the priest came to give her Last Rites. The rest of the family was with her today. She passed on peacefully.

I'm never really sure what to say at these times. Good that you got to have some final moments and I'm glad it was peaceful. I guess the only advice I can give is not to feel guilty to grieve in whatever way is natural to you.

Funeral was today. Beautiful mass with her favorite music. I served as one of the pallbearers.

Never want to do that again.
