MAGA insurrectionist finding out he is in NO-Fly list

Arnold’s video
“We can never undo what we have done. We can never go back in time. We write history with our decisions and our actions. But we also write history with our responses to those actions. We can leave the pain and the damage in our wake, unattended, or we can do the work of acknowledging and fixing, to whatever extent possible, the harm that we have caused.”

yup, that's the one I was trying to post
RE: Politics video madness
Arnold is one of the few Republicans I would put my faith and trust in to do the right thing, because as he said in the video, he's seen what happens when people stood by and did nothing to stop the spread of hatred, intolerance, and bigotry.

EDIT: Oh, and with regards to the dude on the no fly list? "They called me a fucking terrorist!" That's because what you did IS terrorism, you dumb fuck.
RE: Politics video madness
For those interested in video of the Parler Putschers getting pulled off planes and arrested at airports as they are now (a) on the no fly list as terrorists; and, (b) some have warrants out for their arrest.

And here:

Take it from a country that had quite a few rebellions and insurrections before making it stick. Everyone embarking on these endeavours knew they were sealing their death warrant. Generally, that's the price of a failed insurrection. A firing squad or a hemp necktie

I'm beginning to suspect the capitol rebels didn't grasp that - if you rebel against a Government and loose - you will get fucked like a lonely farmers prize goat.

You will not fly home like nothing happened and go to work on Monday. Even if you do - you have awakened a sleeping giant and monumentally pissed it off.

And now it has to prove just how dangerous it is by making an example of those who stirred it from its slumber. It is now doing everything it can to find you. You will never be safe again.

They are coming for you. It may be days. It may be weeks. It may even be years. But they will come - maybe long after you've forgotten they are out there. They will come when they know they will win. It will come as a knock on the door, a phone call at the office, or a delay boarding a plane.

And they will be waiting for you. FBI. Sherrifs. Police. You will not enjoy what happens next. You will likely not enjoy the rest of your life.

So at least try the fuck not to cry like a baby when you end up on a No-Fly list. That's the least of your worries.

Also. Remember that the US Government drones its own citizens. So yeah - if I were your neighbours, I'd be worried.

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.
RE: Politics video madness
If you are already on the no-fly list, they already know who you are.

They're just making sure you're not as able to run while they figure out what to do with you.

And I would not one bit be surprised if, in those US states a death sentence is still legal, the death penalty is advocated for on the basis of felony murder and attempted murder of government officials.

The last time I looked, sedition was a Federal crime, not a state crime. And quoting Wikipedia: "The Trump administration's Department of Justice announced its plans to resume executions for federal crimes in 2019."

Of course they didn't expect it.  They thought that they were doing "God's Work"  (Read: God as Trump) and would therefore be protected from any and all consequences.

Also, they probably thought they were actually gonna manage to pull off some kind of over throw by going in and acting like a bunch of drunk frat boys trying to score one over the rival school that just thrashed their team in the last game.

Actually, come to think of it, it's exactly like that.  Their team (Trump) just got thrashed by ours (Biden) in the last game (The Election) and so they decided to get shit-faced drunk and then go get their ill-thought-out revenge.

<s>Jeeze, the schools these days need to loosen up.  If these people can't get it worked out of their system during college, then it's no wonder why things are like this now!</s>

Since these crimes took place in DC, they are federal crimes and not subject to state jurisdiction.  What do you want to bet that Trump pardons all of them?  I mean, open question: does it benefit him more to be seen as benevolent to his followers, or does it benefit him more to sacrifice a few pawns to be seen as martyrs to his greatness?

Oh, and the federal government does have a death penalty.  In fact, they've been on something of a killing spree in the last month, trying to kill as many as possible before Biden takes over.

RE: Politics video madness
There is, supposedly, a thread on Parler (and thus Amazon Webservice servers) where members were encouraged to share if they were at the Capitol and what crimes they committed there, so that Trump can pardon them.

If that's true, they're a bunch of idiots. Even if Trump could pardon them all (which is unlikely) the staff writing out the pardons would be overloaded, and even if the staff wasn't overloaded Trump wouldn't sign those pardons anyway.

Meanwhile, that's a written confession and Exhibit #1 for the prosecution. Warrants were drafted the moment that became known, and the printers will be churning that thread out onto paper to be marked for the archives and procedures.

Okay, that's not how the no-fly lists work. If these people were actually on the no-fly lists, they'd never have been allowed on the plane in the first place. They're getting pulled off the planes for a) being disruptive and b) (more importantly) refusing to mask up during a pandemic.

If they're being called terrorists, it's because refusing to wear a mask in a confined space is, at best, reckless endangerment. If they're doing it as a political statement, then it's definitely something worse. I'm not sure it qualifies as terrorism, but....

..... GodDAMN they are pissed. They're practically calling for the dissolution of their very own party! (Not that I can blame them from how it's turned into a personality cult for Trump.)
RE: Politics video madness
You sure they think it's still their party?

Because I think they've concluded it's not.
RE: Politics video madness
You're finally catching up to Canada...

When the equivalent situation happened up here (without the civil unrest, thank God) and the conservatives split, the big question on everybody's mind on your side of the border was "Bush or Dukakis?"

And then when Unite the Right finally succeeded in putting the party back together without the cult of personality, the big question on everybody's mind on your side of the border was "Bush Jr. or Gore?"

So, yeah, expect some splintering of parties for a decade or two, and don't assume the party that comes out of the process will have the same name as the party that went into it.

This is a normal and healthy part of the political process.

RE: Politics video madness
Personally, I think it's something that's been a long time in coming. Too long, really. I mean, it's been long enough that the Democratic Party has shifted tones completely from being super-pro-capitalism (Trump used to be one of the biggest names in the Party of Blue) to borderline socialist. What did the Republican Party do? They steadily stripped off their own veneer, revealing just how ugly the wood underneath actually is.
