Linda McMahon is not only the former Trump-appointed head of the Small Business Adminstration but also the current chair of a major Trump superPAC.

It's entertainment for UNPRINTABLE's sake! Who's going to die if they can't attend a wrestling show?

In the first limited trial of Chloroquine at the dosages recommended by China for fighting Coronavirus, 25% of test group experienced significant heart arrhythmias. 17% of test subjects died of coronary complications rather than Covid-19.

Trump has decided to defund WHO.

While there are valid criticisms to be made about it, this is . . . completely insane.
RE: COVID-19 & US healthcare system - thread relapse

Well of course. He needs to blame someone else for his utterly incompetent handling of the situation, and the WHO is foreign, so the various racists that support him will adore it. The fact most of his fuckups regarding Covid-19 are on a national level (lack of tests, refusing to supply states with supplies, stealing supplies from the states, promoting snake oil fish medicine, etc) will be ignored by his cultists like all his fuckups are.

The Nicknamer-in-Chief also thinks that China has too much influence in the WHO, so he's taking this chance to throw away the influence that the USA did have in the WHO. And his excuse is that the WHO were saying exactly what he was saying about China at the same time that he was saying it.

I'd ask whether senility was grounds for removal from office under Amendment 25 of your Constitution, but I remember Reagan...

Out of office? Yes. Any means necessary? No. Baby and Bathwater.

While tempting, it is not yet time for the next american revolution. Much as I want it to be.

For example, people are going on about how the Governor of SD didn't lock down the state, and now there are these cases amongst the meat plant workers. Guess what folks.

1) Meat is an essential. So locking down the rest of the state would not affect those cases.
2) it has also happened in Colorado, where the state IS on lockdown. So taking away our freedoms is not helping that much
3) Fredoms, once relinquished for ANY reason, can never be regained.

U.S. Constitution - Amendment 25 Wrote:4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Source

So, that's what it would take to legally get a sitting President out of the Oval Office without an impeachment. Note the hurdles that have to be passed:
  • the sitting Vice-President has to write a letter saying that the sitting President is not able to carry out his or her duties;
  • the sitting President gets to write a letter saying he or she is able to carry out his or her duties;
  • the sitting Vice-President has to follow up that letter saying, again, that the sitting President is not able to carry out his or her duties despite what the sitting President said; and
  • both houses have to vote to agree with the sitting Vice-President with a two-thirds majority in each house.

Trouble is that, on that very same token, you can't forbid people from eating meat.  After all, protein is an essential part of the human diet.  While there are indeed plant-based sources, forbidding people from getting their protein in the form of meat is like mandating that Jews and Muslims must eat pork.

I don't think it's a matter of forbidding people to eat meat. It is a matter of meat packing plants being the perfect environment for SARS-COV-2 to spread like wildfire. If workers stop showing up or if the plants become such vectors of disease that they can’t run, the possibility of actual food shortages in many core parts of the American diet is far from impossible.

Ehm, no it's not. It's more accurate to say that forcing people who refuse to eat meat on ethical or medical grounds (most vegetarians and vegans) is similar to forcing Jews and Muslims to eat pork. There is no requirement to eat meat or animal derived foods in modern western society for any reason and if you so desire you can just leave it aside.

That aside, meat is an essential component of the current food supply, with other sources of protein either unsuited to human consumption, too expensive, or unpalatable, if they are even accessible. Modern day plant derived meat substitutes often require extensive processing to be suitable for human consumption or to cover for nutrient deficiencies from diets lacking in meat. If you want to experience a cuisine that has adapted to a no meat culture, look into Indian and especially Jain cooking traditions.

Also, don't worry! You'll get that $1200 within the next three weeks! Surely you've got enough to keep going until then!

If you are presuming that those families will have enough money to meet an emergency I'm pretty sure he's right.

Unfortunately, something like 40% of the USA's population doesn't have any money for an emergency of any kind. In fact, a rather substantial section of the population isn't even managing to live with a low or decreasing debt burden.
