Updates 45 (couldn't think of anything witty)
RE: Updates 45 (couldn't think of anything witty)
The only places that use clean agent fire suppression are corporate places where data integrity is worth more than the hardware.
For reference, the STARTING requirement is that your data-center is reasonably *air-tight* or it wont work at all.

I've worked for a few hosting providers. Even the place so cheap they were using consumer level cases instead of rack mounts still kept their generators outside to avoid precisely this issue.
Hell, they even fired the generators up once a month for at least an hour just to make sure they were in good working order.  Again, to avoid precisely this exact issue.

Then again, we all laughed ourselves sick when "ThePlanet" exploded because they weren't accounting for battery ventilation and had a hydrogen build up back in `08. They were at least 10 times our size but made what we regarded as a truly amateur level mistake.

Lots of places cut corners, but some places cut stupid corners.

Cutting corners where the failure condition is a rapid unscheduled thermal event is a stupid corner to cut. Some do it anyways.
