Even if it was inspired by a location in New York, the word "Phillies" above the window suggests a Philadelphia location to me, possibly near whatever baseball stadium the city had at the time. A wiki dive reveals that to have been what was then known as Connie Mack Stadium near 22nd and Lehigh which is more densely populated than the area around today's sports complex.
