William Shatner heading into Space
William Shatner heading into Space

At 90 years of age, William Shatner is heading into space on the next Blue Origin flight. No word on whether he's got the big seat in the middle.

I have been Roland, Beowulf, Achilles, Gilgamesh, Clark Kent, Mary Sue, DJ Croft, Skysaber.  I have been
called a hundred names and will be called a thousand more before the sun grows dim and cold....

Can you imagine being the two people sat next to him?

Like those two bright-eyed and red-shirted starfleet officers who we never met until moments before they beamed down with Kirk to Murderworld IV to investigate the mysterious reports of a whole group of innocent colonists turned inside out.

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.

More like the (blue uniform) Science department mission specialists in this case. Who actually got killed more often than the iconic redshirts in TOS...

Nah, the big question actually is, will he find a Green Skinned Space Babe to fall in love with before the episode trip is over?

Well, today's the day that the Big Giant Head goes into space. Here's hoping all goes well.

(It's also Paul Simon's 80th birthday.)

He's back from his 11-minute trip, and apparently he's been affected by it in much the same way as many astronauts were. He was all but in tears talking to Jeff Bezos after landing.

"It's so... beautiful ... Jeff. The ... Earth is so ... blue ... and round!" - W. Shatner to J. Bezos, probably
