Hands up, who here (besides Bob) knows what this is a reference to.

As to why it's here, I seem to recall a few displacees with acting aspirations.

Heh. I was looking for a release/copyright date on the label to see if it was a deliberate reference or maybe just a coincidence.

I have been Roland, Beowulf, Achilles, Gilgamesh, Clark Kent, Mary Sue, DJ Croft, Skysaber.  I have been

The description on the YouTube page says 1968-1969, so I expect it's a deliberate reference.

Oh, once I heard it I knew it was a deliberate reference. I have very clear memories of watching Laugh-In! during its original run and the singers were obviously attempting to evoke the show without ever really referencing it.
