Had an idea or two...
Had an idea or two...

I remember a few years back someone recommended a music video with Great Big Sea's Ordinary Day set to Doctor Who clips and thought the band wasn't half bad.
Recently I had the opportunity to hear more of their music and two songs struck me as appropriate for a music video Tongue
Feel It Turn which would be set to that scene where the ninth Doctor tells Rose he can feel the earth move followed by the doctor overlooking the earth.
Feel It Turn's Lyrics,
I had a dream I was moving forward

Floating gently to the sun

I've come to see my world rewarded

A new day has begun

A lost bird caught in mid migration

Far away to a foreign land

Offspring of a secret nation

A new day has begun

[Chorus]

I can see the earth below me

and I can

feel it turn

Fog lifts to reveal potential

For generations prophesized

Our growth to be exponential

Our promise finally realized

[Chorus]

[Bridge]

Feel it turn

Across the sky

The world it learns

So must I

Cut steel wired into water

Fixed link, circumnavigate

Old men see your sons and daughters

No longer, no longer hesitate

[Chorus x2]
and a firmly tongue in cheek music video with Scolding Wife set to scenes from the Fate Stay Night anime, specifically to Saber's summoning and interaction with Shirou
Scolding Wife's Lyrics,
Well I came into a scolding wife a few short years ago

And ever since I lead a life of misery and woe

My wife she is a tyrant around the room and in

Ah I'd sell her to the devil for a glass or two of gin

Sure I'll get up and go to work as mild as any man

And she'll get up and dress herself and go and have her dram

And I chance to say a word it's well I know my due

She'll follow me with the fire shovel up and down the room

[Chorus]

And if the devil'd take her I'd thank him for his pain

I swear to God I'll hang meself if I get married again

And if the devil'd take her I'd thank him for his pain

Though I swear to God I'll hang myself if I get married again

When I get up at breakfast time she'll tap me on the head

When I come home at dinner time I'll find her drunk in bed

When I come home at supper time at patience I must stop

'Cause she drinks what's in the teapot and I must drink the slop

[Chorus]

Well once I asked me scolding wife if I could go to bed

She scarce gave me an hour on the pillow to lay me head

When like a roarin' lion she came bustin' down the door

She caught me by the middle and threw me naked on the floor

[Chorus]

Now me and my companions go to a public place

She'll search around the neighbourhood until she finds my face

She'll hoist me up in ridicule before the company

Sayin' 'Petticoats is your master and forever more shall be'

[Chorus (3x)]

You mind if I join in?  A while back, I had an idea for a Haruhi AMV using Rich Fantasy Lives by Tom Smith and Rob Balder.  Nothing really came of it, since I have no idea how to go about putting one together.

Quote:That waitress at Pete's who took so long to seat

you,

And left you to stand in the doorway,

With her stringy red hair and her thousand-yard stare,

In her mind, she's the Princess of Norway.

As she takes down your order, she's crossing the

fjord, her

White stallion spits foam like a madman.

Many Vikings have died trying to take her as bride,

But her heart is reserved for a bad man.
Rich fantasy lives.

Somehow she survives in a world she contrives.

Inhibited husbands and frustrated wives

Lead rich fantasy lives.

That guy from IT ressurects your PC

With a boredom he barely suppresses.

Though he rarely converses, he has more universes

In his head than you've got addresses.

He wargames through weekends, leads armies and legions.

He doesn't care how well you putted.

He's browsing reality's infinite palette, he's

Seen yours, and yours doesn't cut it.

Rich fantasy lives.

He quietly thrives in a world he contrives.

Techno-drone insects in cubicle hives

Lead rich fantasy lives.

We're piling up fears, but we're out of frontiers.

Some need to escape, but there's nowhere.

Can't go to the Moon, at least any time soon,

But an inner-space trip costs you no fare.

So don't be unkind to a wandering mind,

Just say it again if we missed it.

Some whispering poem was calling us home

To a place we know never existed.
Rich fantasy lives.

Our peace-bonded knives and our hyperspace drives.

Until that steam engine to Hogwarts arrives,

We have rich fantasy lives.
Rich fantasy lives.

Our quests and our tribes and our Babylon Fives.

Until something better than this world arrives,

We'll lead rich fantasy lives.

Rich fantasy lives.
Verses one and two would have had a bunch of stuff with Mikuru, mostly from the festival movie and the restaurant at the festival.  The verses about 'That guy from I.T.', I was thinking about focusing mainly on the computer club and the episode "The Day of Sagittarius."  For the last few lines, I remember wanting to draw from the last part of Melancholy, when the world is on the verge of being remade. For the 'inner-space trip' line, I know I wanted the bit from the theme where it zooms into the starfield in Haruhi's eye.   I know I had some other ideas for what would go with which line, but I can't remember what they were, and no longer have the few notes I took before I realized there was no way I could do this.
