Ah, the mainstream media has finally notices Apophis. I've been toying for about a year now with the idea that this particular space rock would feature in
The Last Noah Scott Story (title subject to change)...

Been listening to "To Touch the Stars" again. And here's one for the Artemis Project:

They smiled and waved as they passed the camera,

About to ride a dream as a jaded world looked on.

We'd seen it all before - space had lost its glamour, then,

In a blast of smoke, their lives were gone.

They tried to meet the challenge of reaching for the stars,

To touch their light so clear but yet so far.

They tried to leave the cradle - to view the great unknown,

To proudly stride the cosmos on their own.

It struck a blow to our complacent nature.

Some said this vain attempt would surely be our last.

We'd finally come to comprehend the danger

Of striving for new worlds beyond our grasp.

But we won't let fear diminish the sacrifice they made.

We'll carry on their dreams in memory of their names.

Because we can meet the challenge of reaching for the stars

To touch their light, so clear but yet so far.

It's time to leave the cradle, to view the great unknown,

To proudly stride the cosmos on our own.

Interesting... Though I think that by 2010, Fenspace is gonna have loads of extras-planetary observatories, some of them maybe even extra-solar. The real hell
of it is that about half of them won't even be owned by any 'Dane-side outfits - they'll be Fen projects for fun and/or profit.

They wonder how this improves the process? That's easy. The ship that brings up the modules can just cut and run once they drop the goods off, thus vastly
improving turnaround-times and making flights overall cheaper. Or, better yet, you can make the lifters for the modules unmanned, saving a butt-load of time
and money.

Much obliged. That's about what I had in mind for the Roadhouse on Deimos. As an aside, the idea mentioned in the blog for the pilot for the Buckaroo
Banzai TV series got turned into a limited series comic called "The Turning of the Shrew" by Moonstone Books, who have been working with Earl Mac
Rauch to create new Buckaroo Banzai stories.

I mentioned http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/goods/goods_de ... EOGDS-8405]this figure over in General Chat, then realized that it's even odds somebody in Fenspace is building them for real. Itty-bitty insect-dispatching katana and all. It's also even odds, considering how they're depicted in the source materials, whether they're self-aware...

You say that as if it's a bad thing...

Anyway... If anybody writes that story, I know what to use for http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758730/]inspiration - assuming one can make a comedy out of that plotline.

Indeed - I can only imagine what their act would be like in micro- or null-G. They'd definitely be a huge hit with the Fen.
