Hell, we should have a "Potemkin Village" somewhere that's completely made up of uninhabited shells and false fronts, just because someone thought it would be funny to do so...
Plinius Crater, before Oscar went mad(er), was a place to try the prototypes of Genesis construction droids, an isolated location after one of the robots used in Kandor City was quirked and lost its sense of scale (there is a skycraper-sized statue of Jean Grey carved in the Kandor crater cliffs). Then, he had the Blue Hair Day than eventually ended up with the crater domed and those prototype buildings forming the core of a city.
What I have just realized is that is the former Genesis Trial grounds are filled with a city... they cannot be used for trials anymore. I think I will move the new grounds to some random lunar plain a few dozen miles away from Marduk, where all the new construction robot prototypes build empty buildings (some of whom are the kind of weird that only an automated and quirked handwavium robot can imagine...) I wonder what name should I give the place...
(also, giving the name of Potemkin Village to a place to try out possible quirks sounds like the thing to create quirks all by itself... the debate of just why Genesis keeps gifting the Soviets quirked robots that refuse to build anything that is not Soviet Monumental is something akin to the debate about the egg and the chicken...)
