My apologies if this has already been posted.

A guy I know from the interwebs is trying to participate in this little thing. Can't say I find the goal altogether realistic, but considering the miraculous effects of Kickstarter's abilities to pull millions of dollars from the ether, I can't quite say it's outright impossible either.

Sure, 2023 probably isn't a realistic goal. But the later 2030's? 2040's? Who knows.

It might just be possible.

What Fenspace would be like without the Convention - BBC or Daily Mail

(The Daily Mail story goes into more detail, but the BBC story has some information the Mail missed.)

Now just add a little bit Handwavium and you have a foam grenade.

It's a pity that you can't just build a 1:1 scale replica of an X-Wing out of LEGO, dunk it in 'wavium, and have it work...

Flying car! Delayed again, but at least it's actually had a test flight.

(And I'm wondering whether that CG model -which I'm thinking just might need 'wavium to work as specced - is OBJ format... )

A moment of silence please comrades, for Mr. Iain M. Banks, one of the finest writers of science fiction or anything else in the last twenty years. He was one of the inspiring lights of Fenspace, and he will be sorely missed by us all.

The story in this simple little platform-puzzle game would bring tears (the good kind) to the eyes of any infomorph that plays it... or at least the next closest thing if they don't have tear ducts.

When the Heavy Metal Ninjas run into them, the resulting guitar duels are legendary. (Rumors that both groups are actually the same are just that, rumors.)

One of the few debates among the Trekkies that can quite literally come to blows... some feel that, as a piece of scifi television history, she should remain on Earth, unwaved, for people to see a piece of Fen history... others think she should have the opportunity to travel among the stars without the assistance of old-fashioned blue screen.

Ben would be among the latter. He would see it as making the dream come alive, which is pretty much what the Fen are all about. Waving it is not going to take anything away from the Galileo. It will be adding upon it, making it greater than it was before. I mean, seriously, can you imagine the cheers if it showed up at an dirtside sci-fi convention by actually landing there? And that's to say nothing of how big of a publicity stunt "Go for a ride in the TOS Shuttle!" would be.

As the closest Fenspace has to a deputy Mod (and I'm not that close), I'd prefer this Rock go to somebody or some group who will treat it with respect ... if it goes to anyone at all. Let's not make it just another random settlement.
