Y'know, this is one proposal where I would want them to include the Lunar surface.

(It isn't as if the USA would be the first country to have a designated historic site outside of its borders - Canada has two.)

Isn't at least the Apollo 11 site a UNESCO World Heritage Site? If not, it should be.

It might be, but that doesn't rule out also making it a National Park.

Is there anywhere online where that can be looked up?  Because if it isn't, we should find out the process for proposing it.

Some quick poking around the UNESCO website seems to say that it isn't. It also looks like only countries get to do the actual nominations, so time to write to the various elected officials and get them to do it.
