Forgive me as a relative outsider for butting in like this, but you do realise the only reason you're all in this mess is that you kept refusing to just pick a candidate, right?
Look, don't get me wrong. I really respect and admire your dedication to your "ad-hocratic" way of running things and I get that you don't want to mess with a setup that's working really well. But you voted to join the Crystal Millenium Kingdom, and that means playing by their rules. You can't have all the benefits of Senshi affiliation and none of the drawbacks, people. And it's not like a Baron or Baroness would have to do a whole lot. They're like the Governor-General of Canada; they sign on the dotted line where the local ruling council tells them to and don't make waves unless you do something really dumb like impose apartheid or whatever. And nowhere in the relevant laws does it specify exactly how that ruling council be selected.
And... Well, look. To make up for probably overstepping a bunch of unwritten boundaries, I'd like to offer a practical solution. I swore I wasn't going to trade on Dad's connections unless it was really important, but if you go for Option 2, I'm pretty sure Serenity II would be inclined to look favourably on your preferred candidate if Serenity I were to act as a reference. And since she's now safely out of office, I can exclusively reveal that there is very little that Tanith Curtis will not do in return for Belgian chocolate, hint hint.
