Fire Release: Burn Everything
Fire Release: Burn Everything
#1
Here's what I've got worked out as a reasonably economical (which is to say, no purples or super-expensive procs) build for Shia Arisa Plenilune, my fire/kin controller.

My basic desire is to be able to solo sizable groups of just about anything at a good pace. Secondary purpose is to be able to nail down large groups of anything in TFs and such. Points of particular focus:

-Strong AoE controls. (Oddly lacking in a number of FK builds I've looked at.)

-Quality-of-life-reducers for anything not especially controlled.

-A decent amount of broad-based defense to increase my safety margin against anything that's *still* attacking me.

-As much global recharge as I can get my hands on.

You may notice there's one slot unassigned. That... doesn't entirely satisfy me. With the set bonus recharge I've got, LoTG +recharge seems excessive. But there's other things I could use more slots for...

Notes on specific powers:

Fire Cages: I'm not sold on the procs. Considering dropping Trap of the Hunter.

Siphon Power: I wish I could take something other than this. But Ring of Fire and Repel are even less useful.

Combat Jumping, Maneuvers: The sixth Red Fortune for ranged defense, maybe. There's rarely much near me that's not locked down, but things outside my initial AoEs can get dangerous.

Hot Feet: I say "feh" to slotting this with full Obliteration. Giving up a small amount of damage for a massive increase in slow for anything running away (or towards) me is a trade I'm happy to make.

Stamina: Not sure the second EndMod is worth it or not.

Speed Boost: Conspicuous in it's absence. Much like fighting hundreds of super-weak mobs in FFXI, trying to keep a significant number of people Speed Boosted tears at my soul. So that power will be on an alt build that only comes out for things like AVs and GMs, where my controls have limited utility.

Increase Density: I'll come out and say it, this is mostly a set mule. Also, I wish there was a way to get the Gladiator's Armor +3% defense enhancement.

Fire Imps: Posts in the MM section of the official boards lead me to believe that the two defense aura enhancements stack. I'm a bit torn on using them though. On the one hand, my imps spend a lot of time away from me. On the other hand, they spend a lot of time near me too, and when things get hairy they help a lot in keeping me alive, so something passive to help keep *them* alive is good.

World of Confusion: The returns from slotting this so heavily don't seem all that impressive. But I'm very tempted by the bonuses in the (startlingly cheap) Coercive Persuasion set.

Psionic Tornado: Yeah, this is bog-standard slotting.

Mind Over Body: So, yeah, I've got to pick one last power...

Thoughts?

-Morgan.
