I'd respecced Cyberman 8 just as I19 Alpha Strike came out. And it was a sort of "on the fly" respec. I did it mainly just to get the inherent Fitness Pool and to see if I could cram any new stuff in. I had the idea that I wanted to try out Laser Eyes and Energy Torrent from the Body Mastery Pool. Just because I wanted to have fun with those. (and because in the original source material, 8-Man does have Laser Beam eyes as one of his many weapons.) And it WAS a fun build. I lost nothing in terms of the Defense percentages I already had, and I gained some new powers to fool around with. (and I may still redo it as an alternate build)

But after hearing Ran-san talk on-channel about Namoru's defense numbers, I had to do a double-take. Over 55% on ALL defenses? How was he doing that? He wanted feedback on the build. And I (and Dark Seraph) started pestering him about actually posting it. Because I couldn't do commentary just based on what he was saying. It sounded awesome. And I wanted to see if there was anything I could steal any lessons I could apply to C8. (>.> ...

While I can appreciate some of the choices here, I think you missed a few tricks, possibly due to the idea that "well past ED territory is best". This barely alters the build at all, but I think I gained you some stuff:

Overall, compared to your initial build, this loses you .4% melee def, .2% ranged def, and .3% AoE def, not even a full percentage point between the three of them.

In return, you get 12% more regen, a little more max HP, and another 2% damage buff, on top of your To Hit bonus from Focused Acc being higher, and your endurance consumption on said power being lower (you lose a little bit of the regen bonus from three slotting there, but it's made up for by other set bonuses)

Also, I crammed in the remaining number of LotG 7.5s that the game will let you use, so your recharge is also higher. Overall, you lose a smidgeon of defense that won't really be noticeable and gain a bit more in a half dozen other areas.

I like it! You don't change any powers, it's just the choice in IOs and slotting that tweaks it. (I don't even have to do a respec for it.) 

And you're right, the plus to recharge and regen is worth it. Consider this a stamp of approval!
