story fragments in posts
story fragments in posts
#1
I've noticed that story fragments in posts have all been reduced to one line extending to and off the edge of the screen. Doubt there's anything to be
done with existing posts but perhaps the forum has a setting or something to keep new ones from dropping into this mode? Anyway just a heads up.

It's been mentioned before in the yuku threads.

-Morgan, still doesn't know why she has to put in her line breaks *manually* though...

I haven't had a chance to even look at this one. This has been a busy, sucky week for me on so freaking many levels.

It looks like this might have got lost in the other thread, so I'll say it again here...

Quote:I'd be willing to take a copy of the imported theme and throw it up on a free board to see if I could get something like the old design. After all, I'm complaining a lot, so I should put my time and enthusiasm where my mouth is. And while I probably couldn't do the original design, I can handle mimickry. (I've already saved copies of various things from google cache for reference material.)

I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands this next week, and I've got a fair amount of experience with other template languages, so I can probably figure out whatever it is they're using. I could start it from scratch, but having a copy of the current theme would probably help, since it looks like at least *some* things carried over decently.

(Mind you, I don't know how likely it is that fixing up the skin would do anything about the single-line issue; more likely those would just need to be edited to put in pre tags or something.)

Anyway, if you'd be interested in having any help getting things set up again, I'd like to help. '.'

-Morgan.

Please give it a try, Morgan -- as for a copy of the original, you might be able to snag pages to work from out of the Google cache.

Oh, I already got some of those. But I mean the stuff that the theme importer has already produced, since it got at least *some* things right... It'd give
me a bit of a head start. (Mind you, if there is a single file that can just be copied out for that, I'm having a hard time figuring out where it is from
the docs... but then, they seem to be a bit sparse. Oddly sparse for production-level software if you ask me. >.> )

EDIT: Okay, the thing I'd like is the xml file you get by doing this:

1. Admin control panel.

2. Select "customized skins" under design.

3. Click "export".

Though, it's looking like this is a bit more limited than I was expecting... But I wouldn't be surprised if there's some surprises to be found yet.

-Morgan, could get it herself if you gave her admin status... but isn't sure she's given you *that* much reason to trust her. '.'

Okay, Morgan, here's the export of the style XML:
