Broken image links, buttons etc.
Broken image links, buttons etc.

Some of the image links are breaking again.

Specifically several buttons and icons, including "New Topic" and the icon for "locked topic".

Edit: Add "New Poll" icon to that list.

Looks like they went and killed the images that were on the ezboard domain again. Last time this happened, they came back after a while, but who knows if that'll be the case this time...

Well, thanks to Rob Kelk saving the images, this is probably fixable. I know I'd fixed one of the images that had the problem before. Now I just have to figure out how I did it...

More "thanks to Rob Kelk still having the images in cache"... but yeah - Yuku, you shouldn't kill a service without telling people ahead of time!

See the "Wonky timestamps" thread -- this is one of several side effects from some server updates they did a couple days ago.

Should I go ahead and shift the rest of them to images that are hosted on yuku.com?

Since this isn't the first time the issue has come up, I'd say "yes."

The buttons are gone again... (The ezboard domain gives a 404 error when I try to view them.)

See the Yuku support announcement I just made visible at the top of the forums. The ezboard images disappearing is a known problem caused by Yuku's server migration.

I can't recall, did we ever have an 'Add Reply' button, or was it always just a hyperlink?

We had a button, and it looked like this: [Image: addreply.gif]

More buttons and icons here: http://web.ncf.ca/fm536/ezimages/

(Aren't you glad somebody saved off a few entire webpages, to harvest the images from?)

I thought so!  Thanks!  I miss those buttons...

It stopped working, and then worked again, and stopped working again... bleh.

Sometime in the next couple of days I'll finish migrating them to somewhere that hopefully won't disappear.

Any word on this? Right now, on my Blackberry browser, both "New Poll" and "New Topic" are identical boxes, each with a red X in it. That makes it difficult to pick the right one...

Well, given that poll functionality is so little used, I'll disable it to make it a bit easier to manage such things. As for the image problems, I am fundamentally clueless -- although Yuku has confirmed that at least part of the problem is on their end.
