Good-bye, England, we loved you well...

Religeon... It kinda depends. For one thing, it takes a strong persona to rebell against the environment one is raised in. IMHO, only the weak minded become extremists. Although, that's not to say that extremists aren't smart - quite the contrary, some are frighteningly inteligent. Be glad that terrorists don't always have access to the resources needed to truly make our lives interesting in the ancient Chinese sense.
If someone is raised in an environment where their supremacy over others is preached, then chances are that person will grow up thinking they're superior to everyone else.
Fortunately for us here in the US, there aren't too many extremists who live here on a permanent basis - most Muslims that I know of are perfectly nice people who don't think themselves any better than I am. Most that are extremists are only here because some of the better and more prestigious Colleges are here in the US. The extremists know that America is a place where equality is preached and, even though supremist groups exist, they can not get away with blatant assault on "Religious Grounds". Sorry folks, but hate crime is hate crime. If something like the incident in London had occured here in America those men would have at least spent an evening in the town pokey to think about who is and is not a slave.
I can put up with being called an infidel. I'm not of their religeon, ergo, I am one of the unwashed. But the first one that calls me a -slave- is gonna find out exactly how I feel about that.
That said, when I get out of the Navy I think I'll invest in one of the nice walking sticks they have at Cold Steel.
