Ah yep, according to http://ca.jalopnik.com/5775509/feds-lau ... ine-owners]here everyones' favorite agency the Department of Homeland Security are in the continuing process of tracking down grey-market R32, R33, R34 GTx & GT-R Skylines and seizing them.
Meanwhile the rest of the (RHD) world's car lovers are going 'lol what' and continue freaking about Mitsubishi's pending announcement of no more EVOs.

Blame Mercedes for this one. They got sick of grey importers pulling in Mercs from other LHD countries, and undercutting US Merc delears on price, so lobbied US congress to add tough new laws for 'safety reasons' to prevent the practice. It's protectionism.

It's always true that it's easier to go after decent people, than it is to go after the real criminals that actually harm society. It looks good on the 'crime statistics' reports...

What I find to be truly hilarious is that most of the safety features on grey-market vehicles usually exceed those of US Market vehicles... as well as our emissions requirements. Most other countries will allow a US made vehicle to be imported, but only so long as said vehicle meets or exceeds their safety and emissions standards.

So! That said, I think this could be ruled as being unconstitutional for the same reasons they're trying to make Obama-care unconstitutional. Sorry Corporate America... can't have your cake and eat it, too. Wink
