This is...interesting, now. Because, alright, I mean, we actually do know a fair bit about Mag's supposed backstory. He's supposed to be an engineer that did some work on what's now become the Crey Cryo Tank armour, that he's married. I believe an earlier bit had his wife convincing him to get back in the saddle, as it were - to go 'superhero' again after at least a period of time out of the suit.
Now...some of that has been conveyed, in previous stuff, by way of interior monologue or third person omniscient, so there's presumably truth in there somewhere. What's missing from that picture, then? His age could be one thing, as noted it's been suggested he's an older guy. Or is what's been previously established...now known to be deliberate deception of some sort?
Or is everything that's been established more or less true, it's just there's some really big additional detail that's a huge zinger?
...as an aside, I note that almost everyone, when using the base as a setting in stories, talks about teleporter systems and so on, so forth. Which is obviously consistent with how it's used. I do believe, though, that Atlantea's concept for the base - as reflected by the occasional skylight and aircraft hangar room we previously had - is the upper levels of a Steel Canyon skyscraper.
Which could be a really cool fact to throw out, somehow. I did have a story project in draft form which was supposed to make use of that skyscraper setting, but in the end, I never got round to it. I might need to see if I can salvage bits and pieces of that for snippet form. High rise and vertical and a building beneath has a fair bit of dramatic potential, I've always thought...
