I haven't tried the self-destruct yet, although I put it into Range Saber's tray last night for ease of use.

It used to autohospital you, and the text still indicates it does. However what it actually does right now is KO you, but you still can use inspirations and any self-rez power you might possess. Allies cannot use rez powers on you, however.
This is why Self Destruct + Rise of the Phoenix is awesome, because you explode in a massive fireball, then reappear in a second burst of flame. And then, theoretically, if you're a fire blaster...promptly Inferno for a third special effect. =D -- Acyl
They ought to change the limitations on macros just so you can set that all up with a single keystroke. Really. Plus a Sinistar-style "I Live!"

blasters get it from the Fire Mastery EPP, Scrappers, Brutes, and Tanks can get it from Fire Armor
