City of Heroes Freedom

As long as being a subscriber means I don't notice any loss of function or ability to enjoy my alt-itis, I don't see a reason to get upset. Other than having to borrow credit cards ever year, of course. Tongue

Get a PayPal credit card.  I've got one of those so I can ship items we sell, without having to wait for the money to go from PayPal to my bank account.  It's awesome.

Don't you have to have a credit card first, before you can access the extra features like that? If not, where did you go on the site to set that up?

It's under "Products and Services" -> "View all services" -> "Paypal Debit Mastercard"
I think you have to have a bank account attached.

What's some other things that we know about CoH: Freedom ... or Issue 21: Convergence?
Well browsing the Dev chat threads and other places on the forums shows some interesting things. Mind you this is what they are saying publicly, so this is subject to change and should be taken with a large measure of salt.
- They are rewriting all the game content and are mid way through the 10-15 level range... yes that includes Atlas Park, Galaxy City
- Titian Weapons, new two hand melee set with variable speed ('momentum')
- Time Manipulation is a buff/debuff set
- no mounts
- There's going to be a Ghostbuster's reference to: 'Are you a God?'
- First Ward is "Praetoria's Dirty Little Secret." and a co-op zone.
-The Carnival of Light are not the Resistance, but are Resistance
aligned. They are the combined forces of the mystical and magical forces
that are good guys, essentially.
- The arcs and stuff around First Ward is going to be good for lore lovers.
- New Hamidon stuff is going to bust Praetoria wide open
- Black Scorpion: "We've got tentacles. Luckily all the tentacles wrapped
around buildings are dead. Because after all, Empire Cole defeated the
Hamidon. Right? RIGHT?!"
- The dev team brought back Praetoria War Witch only to kill her off again.
- 400 Paragon Points = $5.00
- VIP get's 400 pts, 1 Character Transfer per month and sig story arcs included in their sub.
- Various emotes, costumes and sig stories can be unlocked account wide via Paragon Points
- You can purchase additional Paragon Points in game.

A lot of convenience stores will also sell you Visa/Mastercard/Amex "prepaid credit cards" that you can use, too.

What is meant by "sig story arcs"? Are we finally going to get custom personal nemeses?

sig story arc ... signature story arc.

Monthly story arcs that are unlocked and are basically paid content.

I was basically copying what other people said. I haven't personally listened to the Dev Chat ustream. If I did that, I'd never get the game patched!

By "monthly story arcs" do they mean a new one available each month, or do they mean "new one ONLY available this month"?

Given the fact they've noted outright there will be an "echo" of Galaxy to visit for exploration badges and the like, I imagine that it's unlikely they'll give time-limited content any time soon.

I think that big SoB in Galaxy is A Shivian, but insted of using some poor saps corpse to build a body, it raided the building it just smashed through.

... You know, Shivans showed up in the 50s originally. Praet-Hami showed up a few decades earlier then Primal-Hami, mostly because the Earth was in worse shape from the Korean war going nuclear... and those things in the Underground and the Seed in First Ward look somewhat Shivan... Oh dear. O_O
