Supporting Cast books?
Supporting Cast books?
#1
It seems the obvious question. Is that how we're going to do characters? Are we going to do characters? Should the books be organized by era, theme, or both? (To the list of PDFs I would buy the hell out of, add a Weird War II supporting cast series on wartime supers.) The Deadly Dozen, the Harvey Banks "Appreciation" Society, the Supertemps All-Stars... the possibilities, as P.R. Honeycomb said, are fructifying.

Yes, that's how we're going to handle characters, should IST25 sell well enough to justify secondary works. As to the organization and number, that's a bit premature at this point.

Harvey Banks "Appreciation" Society? Okay, I think I missed a memo. What's this?

My umbrella term for those characters whose powers have either a known connection or a possible correlation with the presence of Harvey Banks in their lives: Cascade and Doctor Radiation from Super Scum; Astronaut, Deacon Blues and Kid Chrome Supertemps, and possibly others we don't know about.

Harvey Banks does seem to play a catalytic role, doesn't he? Maybe I should dig into that a bit more.

Sounds like a plan to me. If Mark Johnson's still reachable, you can ask him whether he had anything specific in mind, or even whether it's synchronicity or just coincidence that Banks seems to be (as I've put it at least once in private notes) an origin looking for a place to happen.

Hmmmmm ... There are rules in GURPS 4e for giving people superpowers...

(goes and looks)

Ah, yes; here's the build: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=127713 (or, at least, a build).

That would be a neat use for the character, I think there's a rule somewhere for "Origins Magnet"

"Origins Magnet" appears on p.32 of the 4E GURPS Supers as a variant of Weirdness Magnet.
