Excerpt from a newspaper article...
Excerpt from a newspaper article...

A Western writer once said in one of his books, "Godhood is more
than a name. It is a condition of being.... Being a god is the
quality of being able to be yourself to such an extent that your
passions correspond with the forces of the universe, so that
those who look upon you know this without hearing your name
spoken.... One rules through one's ruling passion. Those who
look upon gods then say, without even knowing their names, 'He is
Fire. She is Dance. He is Destruction.'"

So it is with the Sailor Senshi; one cannot be in their presence
and ever hope to deny it. Sailor Mars is Fire, burning passion
and intensity. Sailor Venus is shining Light. Sailor Mercury is
Water in all its forms. Sailor Jupiter is the Storm and the
Lightning. Sailor Uranus is the power of Heaven brought to
Earth. Sailor Neptune is the inexorable force of the Sea.

And Sailor Moon -- Sailor Moon is Love.

Lord of Light, no less.  Cool.  Kubera to Ratri, if I'm recalling it correctly without checking.
Also, "Love power, baby!" as Sooper Hippie [sic put it.

That's beautiful, really.  Makes me wonder how these lovely goddesses are going to fit into the established cosmology.  Is Hexe more of a Jupiter or Uranus? *grin*
But in some ways, I think it sells the Sailor Senshi a bit short.
Sailor Mars is passionate éros, the unstoppable flame which no man could ever hope to control, the turbulent all-consuming desire of the heart.  Sailor Mercury is thoughtful philía, the knowledge of all that must be done to secure her love, the fluid wisdom that values duty and truth above all else.  Sailor Venus is indispensible storge, the happy soul who shines the light of friendship on everyone, the miraculous brilliance of beauty shared with all.  Sailor Jupiter is selfless agápe, the bearer of dreams unrequited but intense as lightning, the harmonious soul that lives to serve (food) and protect everyone.
They are all love.  And Sailor Moon is the fifth love; the quintessence; love in mind, body, feelings, and spirit united; the transcendent ichirei shikon.

So, no Saturn or Pluto. Of course, the secrecy of the Time Gates is why Pluto isn't around, but that could backfire. I mean, if Pluto doesn't have a visible Senshi, it's obviously not a planet and can be demoted by the IAU.

Didn't think that one through, did you Setsuna?

It does make me think how Saturn would be described, what with the whole 'Destruction and Rebirth' bit.

The members of the International Astronomical Society never knew why their clocks were always exactly two minutes and thirty six seconds off... but we know.

Correct. One for butterfly reasons, and the other... well, actually, they're both butterfly reasons, but in the one case, Doug utterly and completely derails future canon from miles away without ever knowing it.

Well, Doug and Usagi, to be absolutely honest.

"Sensei once told us the words of a great man from America,"
Sailor Jupiter said to me during a break in her training. "His
name was Malcolm X, and one of the things he said was, 'Be
peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if
someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.'" She
drank an entire bottle of Ramune in one long pull, then looked
back at me. "The Dark Kingdom has put their hand on Japan. And
we will send the Dark Kingdom to the cemetery."

Bob, where can I find the whole thing at? Google seems to know nothing about that article, save for this very thread!
EDIT: Or was this something very much Meta to DW-S?

Like Rob said, this is an in-story newspaper article from DW-S.  You've seen Jitsuha Yoshi in at least one teaser posted for the story.

I'm typing this on an IPad so sorry if I can't past the link:

NASA is crowdsourcing the hunt for Planet Y. So it is possible there is a lost Senshi out there?
