The Song of a Warrior at War
The Song of a Warrior at War
#1
I think this is a good song for Doug when he goes to war on someone..or something
You Know My Name (Theme Song to Casino Royale)
Performed by Chris Cornell
If you take a life do you know what you'll give?
Odds are, you won't like what it is
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me?
By the merciless eyes I've deceived?
I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line
Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
If you come inside things will not be the same
When you return to the knives
And if you think you've won
You never saw me change
The game that we have been playing
I've seen this diamond cut through harder men
Than you yourself
But if you must pretend
You may meet your end
Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
Try to hide your hand
Forget how to feel
(Forget how to feel)
Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel
(Spin of the wheel)
Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you ready to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
(You know my name)
You know my name
(You know my name)
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name

I can see this song playing when Doug puts the hammer down on a villain.

Do you have copyright info for this one, by any chance? I don't see a power, but I do see a phrase I want to use as a chapter-start quote...

-Rob Kelk

"Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose
them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of
the same sovereign, servants of the same law."

The lyrics refer to 2 things: symbolism of the gaming table and coldness of character: ice and diamonds are synonymous.
At the most obvious...give him the ability to materialize diamond edged knives- sharpened to the mono-molecular level
You can have the song while it is playing to have Doug receive the skills of a world-class torturer and interrogator. Plus having a fear-inducing aura. The side-effect is to turn Doug for the duration of the song into the coldest and ruthless person in this dimension. A demon in human form. With all this ruthlessness focused on his enemy.

Um, that latter description, not so much for me. Yes, Doug's a killer, and at times a little cold-blooded about it -- but he's not a sadist.

I never said he enjoyed inflictng pain, Bob. I just said he received the skills on where and how to inflict the maximum amount of pain on any being.
