Here I go again...
Here I go again...

THE WARRIOR
Scandal
You run, run, run away
It's your heart that you betray
Feeding on your hungry eyes
I bet you're not so civilized
Well isn't love primitive
A wild gift that you wanna give
Break out of captivity
And follow me stereo jungle child
Love is the kill
Your heart's still wild
Shooting at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang
I am the warrior
Well I am the warrior
And heart to heart you'll win
If you survive the warrior, the warrior
You talk, talk, you talk too me
Your eyes touch me physically
Stay with me we'll take the night
As passion takes another bite, oh
Who's the hunter, who's the game
I feel the beat call your name
I hold you close in victory
I don't wanna tame your animal style
You won't be caged in the call of the wild
Shooting at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang
I am the warrior
Well I am the warrior
And heart to heart you'll win
If you survive the warrior, the warrior
I am the warrior
Shooting at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang
I am the warrior
And heart to heart you'll win
If you survive the warrior, the warrior

Power: Lets Doug mimic the powers of any 1 Warrior with which he's worked.
Downsides: first, this temporarily turns _off_ his normal abilities (enhanced strength and reflexes, his improbabilty field, ect), though these may be compensated for depending on who he's copying. Second, doesn't seem to work if he tries copying Hexe. Third, he takes on the appearance of said warrior as well.
Doug in a feminine voice: "I know I've said I would like to be closer to Silverbolt, but this is ridiculous."__________________

You know Doug quotes this song in DW2, as part of the "patter" he fires at Linna during his first meeting with the Sabers, right?
As for a power... hm, never thought of it as a power -- it's always been one of his two "theme songs" in my mind, along with the Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band's "I'm The Urban Spaceman" -- but that's certainly a nicely twisted concept...

Well, there would be some irony in The Warrior not being a power song. 8)
Or here's another idea, the Song gives it's target super powers (based on their personality), but has no effect if they already have powers.
Doug knows it does something but hasn't been able to figure out what. When he plays it, it starts powering up then stops (because Doug already has powers). Again he could use "I play for you" to aim it at someone else, but it wouldn't have worked on the other Warriors back home (or goddesses, Senshi, ect)
It could be something he goes back to every once in a while but can never quite figure out (like me and rubix cubes).__________________

Oh, no, I like the original idea better.
(Oh, and Doug doesn't have enhanced strength. He's no stronger than an ordinary man who's in fairly good condition -- 12 on a 3-18 scale.)

Simon and Garfunkle
I Am a Rock (power song)
A winters day
In a deep and dark december;
I am alone,
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
Ive built walls,
A fortress deep and mighty,
That none may penetrate.
I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain.
Its laughter and its loving I disdain.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
Dont talk of love,
But Ive heard the words before;
Its sleeping in my memory.
I wont disturb the slumber of feelings that have died.
If I never loved I never would have cried.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.

I was thinking that this would transform Doug into stone (sorta like Colossus from the X-Men). Will this would make him stronger and a lot tougher, the greatly increased mass would also slow him down a fair bit and cut down on the acrobatics.
Also, Doug would be somewhat emotionally detached/isolated in stone form, sort of like a Vulcan, the emotions are there, but surpressed and they wouldn't have as strong an impact on him.
Of course when the song ends that can result in some rapid mood swings as he recovers his emotional balance.__________________

What I see happening for this song is that it gives Doug the power to "step out of current time." For an example of this look at what Shepherd Blaine does while in jail in "Time is the Simplest Thing" by Clifford D. Simak. He moves to a "null" time where inanimate objects are all that exists.

well, as it turns out, Doug already has a song that turns into a stone man, so my idea is sorta un-needed. 8P__________________

I Think I'm A Clone Now (Weird Al Yankovic)
Isn't it strange
Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror
What would people say
If only they knew that I was
Part of some geneticist's plan (plan-plan-plan)
Born to be a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
There in a petri dish late one night
They took a donor's body cell and fertilized a human egg and so I say
I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
Look at the way
We go out walking close together
I guess you could say
I'm really beside myself
I still remember how it began (gan-gan-gan)
They produced a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
Born in a science lab late one night
Without a mother or a father, just a test tube and a womb with a view
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
And I can stay at home while I'm out of town
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every pair of genes is a hand-me-down
Signing autographs for my fans
Come and meet the carbon copy man
Livin' in stereo, it's all right
Well I can be my own best friend and I can send myself for pizza so I say
I think I'm a clone now
Another one of me's always hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
I've been on Oprah Winfrey - I'm world renowned
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
And every pair of genes is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
That's my genetic twin always hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)

Heck, after step 5 this may turn Doug and his clones into SD versions of himself (ala the mini-urds).__________________

Boom (P.O.D.)
(haha)
I never knew that a kid like me
Could take his mic around the world and flash the big S.D.
And rock the masses, from Madrid to Calabassas
Tijuana, Mexico, bootleg demos in Tokyo
They know me though, 'cause I be puttin' in work
Commit my life to rebirth, well respected, 'cause that's my word
I'm sure you heard (heard), about a new sound going around
She might have left my hood, but she was born in my town
You didn't know, thought we was new on the scene
Well, it's alright! It's alright!
I know you know, I see you smiling at me
Well, it's alright! It's alright!
Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not, here comes the boys from the South
Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not, How you like me now?

I'm not running off my mouth, I know this without a doubt
'Cause if you know these streets, then these streets know you
When it's time to handle business, then you know what to do (what to do)
Me and my crew, we stay true, old skool or new
Many were called, but the chosen are few (were a few)
We rise to the top, what you want? Just in case you forgot
Rush the stage, grab my mic, show me what you got
You didn't know, thought we was new on the scene
Well, it's alright! It's alright!

Possible powers;
I had 2 main ideas, one is a sonic blast attack (sorta like Cyborg's sonic cannon from the Teen Titans show), or possibly just an explosion effect (could be either touch range like DC's The Human Bomb, or maybe something like Boom-Boom from X-men)
I was also thinking of it giving him some form of invulnerability, possibly only from ranged or projectile attacks ("I'll take you Best shot" and "Is that all you got?")__________________

Actually, I've used this as an "immunity to emotion control" power, despite the fact that the subtext is quite the opposite of what it literally says...

I like this, this could work. I've got one other multi-Doug song, but it's very specific (that baseball song of John Fogerty's, which turns Doug into a baseball team). A nice general purpose Multiple Man effect is handy.

Centerfield. (There's a decent Princess Nine AMV set to it.)
And now I'm reminded of that episode of Adventures of the Mini-Goddess where there's a baseball game between the Urds and the Skulds... or, on a slightly more serious vein, the manga story where Megumi's college softball team has to find some extra players to have a match with the college baseball team...

Here's a song that you'd definately want to target on your opponent (and not yourself)
Pink "Don't let me get me"
Never win first place, I don't support the team
I can't take direction, and my socks are never
clean
Teachers dated me, my parents hated me
I was always in a fight cuz I can't do nothin'
right
Everyday I fight a war against the mirror
I can't take the person starin' back at me
I'm a hazard to myself
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
It's bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else
I wanna be somebody else, yeah
LA told me, "You'll be a pop star,
All you have to change is everything you are."
Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears
She's so pretty, that just ain't me
Doctor, doctor won't you please prescribe
somethin
A day in the life of someone else?
Cuz I'm a hazard to myself
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
It's bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
It's bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else
Doctor, doctor won't you please prescribe
somethin
A day in the life of someone else?
Don't let me get me
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
It's bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else

target becomes his/her own worst enemy. this could
a) take the form of doug's power making a simulcrum of the target focused on attacking/destroying the target
b) a psychological effect of the target subconsiously sabotaging himself, overconfidence to the point of ignoring threats, stopping to gloat rather than finishing the job, ect__________________

oh, and a quirk of Doug using Boom (from earlier in this thread).
the repeated line 'boys from the south' causes Doug to speak in a southern accent while the song is active. 8)
Finally, I'm not sure if Doug has a power for Genesis' Land of Confusion, but the band Disturbed has now covered it. It's a harder version obviously, but I like it.__________________

here's the lyrics if you need them:
AC/DC - TNT
(Oi, Oi, Oi)
(Oi, Oi, Oi)
(Oi, Oi, Oi)
(Oi, Oi, Oi)
(Oi, Oi, Oi)
See me ride out of the sunset,
On your colour TV screen
Out for all that I can get,
If you know what I mean
Women to the left of me,
And women to the right
Ain't got no gun, ain't got no knife,
Don't you start no fight...
REFRAIN
Cause I'm T.N.T., I'm dynamite!
(T.N.T.) And I'll win the fight!
(T.N.T.) I'm a power load!
(T.N.T.) watch me explooooode!
I'm dirty, mean, and mighty unclean,
I'm a wanted man
Public enemy number one,
Understand?
So, lock up your daughter, and lock up your wife,
Lock up your backdoor, and run for your life
The man is back in town,
So, don't you mess me 'round...
REFRAIN
'Cause I'm T.N.T., I'm dynamite!
(T.N.T.) And I'll win the fight!
(T.N.T.) I'm a power load!
(T.N.T.) Watch me explooode!
SOLO
REFRAIN
T.N.T. (Oi, Oi, Oi)
T.N.T. (Oi, Oi, Oi)
T.N.T. (Oi, Oi, Oi)
T.N.T. (Oi, Oi, Oi)
T.N.T., I'm dynamite! (Oi, Oi, Oi)
(T.N.T.) And I'll win the fight! (Oi, Oi, Oi)
(T.N.T.) I'm a power load! (Oi, Oi, Oi)
(T.N.T.) Just Watch me exploooooode!
