These are my interpretations of many of the vocal songs I have. I'll be basically going, systematically, through my collection here.

"I Need A Hero" (alternate- "Holding Out For A Hero")

"I need a hero/
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night..."
The effect of this song is twofold:
First, it provides a boost to all combat-relevant abilities (speed, strength, toughness, stamina, and mental focus), until one of two ending conditions are met.
Second, it sends out an instant psionic 'distress call' to any and all allies (range varies based on transit time). Thus, the song will normally only reach most of a continent, but with those who can teleport or move fast, it will reach farther. This 'call' lets the receiver know of its' user's state of distress, and their specific location, including a non-compulsory psychic imperative effect (powerful enough to make receivers take notice of his problem, but not enough to force assistance).
At the end of the song (as usual), both effects shut down. If, though, at least one ally comes to the aid of the user, the combat enhancement will end, while the summons will continue.

Very simple- for the duration of the song, any martial arts experience the user has will increase. The user enters a state of mental focus that improves strategic ability, causing everything he has ever learned in the arts of fighting to make more sense. Moves will flow together better, be performed more accurately, and be used more appropriately (less chance of using the wrong counter to a specific attack). If the proper martial arts knowledge and experience is lacking, the user will still, for the duration of the song, be able to fight at black belt level in any particular style(s) of his choice; improvisation will not be an option with skill acquired in this manner.

The target of this song is, obviously rendered incapable of leaving the immediate vicinity of the user. Useful for escorting a noncombatant, taking a prisoner (they *can't* escape), or leading an enemy away from an area.

It's screaming for a power, but I can't decide which. Should it be having anybody who sees him already know of him, like many would know Hollywood celebrities, or should it make anything he does be remembered by bystanders, like as the beginning of a legend? The lyrics would seem to support both, but I can't decide.

The only reason I'm not posting lyrics is because they're generally easy to find.
I see this as sort of a positive mood-enhancing song, useful for those times when Doug just failed to save someone, lost a friend, etc..
Mind you, the implications of the lyrics set up a potential side-effect of uncontrollable lechery... but that could just be me, having seen the Golden Boy AMV to this song.
